wang is pretty much like Nguyen

i remember being in grade 9 and there was a dude in my homeroom whose last name was nguyen

and the teacher pronounced it correctly when doing attendance and the dude was kinda shocked by that

and the teacher's like "there are a lot of nguyens in this school, i learned how to get it right years ago."

    he wasn't kidding

not a single kid named nguyen at that school that i knew was related to any of the other nguyens

it's like the vietnamese version of Smith

    it's worse than that

about 40% of all vietnamese people have that name

On two name-related notes, we have a guy at work named Dang Long, and when looking over some test results for a FOIL request last week there were 4 people named "Unique" out of like 200 total results.

I'm still not quite sure if it's Win or Nwin, I feel like I might have heard it both ways but my hearing isn't the best.

I just found out that there is a person at our school called Victory Wang. I think that takes the cake.
Well, assuming his parents are Chinese, they were probably thinking something along the lines of "King of Victory" or something like that.

So yeah, pretty much just crazy high expectations.

If that woman's cleavedge made one more person pick the game up off the shelf, it was a net positive for microprose. And to be blunt, if taking her top off could have increased sales enough to get a sequel, I'd endorse it 100000% because I like playing great games.

Oh how I forgot this one.

"Daniel" is a fairly common name amongst Jewish Communities, and there's this kid in the school where my mom works named Jack Daniel

My name is Daniel, it is really common.

Aaaagg forgot to say, family name.

I had class with a girl named Diamond Rush. If she wasn't a super hero or a stripper, she was WASTING her name.

edit: So I just got back from a trip. Ronia Quinn Holkins. Alright. I guess she can always go by Quinn when she gets older. There was some baby I saw online whose mother is some semi famous blogger, and his name is Odin. That's one of those fuck awesome/incredibly stupid names for a kid. I guess they're Norwegian, so it's only slightly better.

I had a Latin teacher who was also Irish Catholic, so his latest kid was Callixtus....something like 4 middle names after that...O'Neill. Or as our Spanish teacher put it, Latin for "Please kick my ass, classmates"

Not sure what the last name is, but it can't be worse than that first.

Trixie isn't that bad. But I always found it a little odd to give your kid a nickname or a shortened name as a full name. Like kids I knew named Andy, or naming your kid Bob. Just give them a legal full name and call them Bob at home.

Now I'm thinking of that Simpsons where they go to the courthouse and the judge mentions "Bartholomew, Lisa, and Margaret Simpson" as the three Simpsons kids, and Homer has no idea who Margaret Simpson is. Never mind that his wife and child have the same name.

At my school there were a few names of some other kids that stuck out to me.

One was Christopher Rock. Another was Merlin. The third was Buster Storm.

    Buster Storm

Nobody believed that was his real name, not even teachers. Felt like he was named after an RPG special attack.

Fuck, you go to Sydney Grammar?

Edit (fixing Horrible grammar): Also at Sydney Grammar is a Hunter McDouglus-Monk, a Phillip Phillips, an Aladin and yes, Buster Storm Does exist.

Holy shit yes I did, I finished last year.

And hell yes I remember Aladin

Did you call him Al? Or maybe Din? Or how about just Laddie?

Never really knew him, he was a few years below me.

Since I kept all my diaries, I might try and make a collage of all the names that can be considered humorous. For now, there is only Buster Storm:

    Untitled.jpg

Wait, does the DB mean Buster was his middle name or something? Was his first name Dave?

Well to be fair, Marge's full name is Margery.

I used to have a neighbor named Rocky Beach. And I went to school with a kid named Dusty Person.

    So, no comic today?

Hey, new newspost, it changed literally within the last two minutes

Apparently Gabe is taking Scott to "some kind of clinic" to check for the Pig Cold, so they have an old guest strip by the Foxtrot guy they're going to post

Also Tycho's mom is obsessed with the new Zelda train game
