It's fair that there's too much good in the 2000s. But really, Firefly wasn't exceptional. It had a nice atmosphere and fun plots, but it was conventional.

Wait, which season would you pick over 5? The one where Cox loses 3 patients in one day puts that season over the top almost all by itself.

And I'll defend South Park Season 8 to the death. That season was fucking brilliant writing. Some of the targets were obvious, but even so, they perfected the characterization and the plotting/gag-writing was almost flawless.

Sorkin just rubs me wrong for whatever reason. I'll say this - early drafts of the list had West Wing Season 3 on the honorable mentions, as well as Sports Night. First I cut West Wing season 3. Then I cut Sports Night.

Yea My Lunch is an extremely great episode but the rest of the season is not nearly as good.

I think 3 is better than 2, and you could make a pretty good case for 3 beating out 5, but I dunno, in the end, 5 just worked better for me. I remember plowing through the seasons a couple years ago and feeling that Season 5 was the pinnacle, that it was so OBVIOUSLY peaking. And then I saw Season 6 and knew that while it was good, it wasn't going to be as good as it was.

"Yea" is correctly pronounced "yay," and is used formally. As a substitute for "yeah," "yea" is just a misspelling.
