Although I doubt this will make you feel better. I think multiple people killed you , mate D:
Oh, I'd forgotten how I died. No sniper was involved, though I was "stabbed in the back and beaten to a pulp"
Who was that/why'd you kill me?
We weren't the beaten to a bloody pulp part though.
We were the "stabbed in the back" part.
I think you'll be very upset when you find out why...
Here, look, it's like this: Crimson was Agent Red in team SPECTRUM.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
It didn't help that Ed gave Aja and I roles that matched our Exigency Campaign Characters. Had I not been a backstabber, and Aja not been a doctor- I suspect we wouldn't have even given it a thought..
edit: On the positive side, someone else would have killed you anyway.... (the beaten to a pulp bit). So you didn't die for a completely dumb reason...solely
It would've been badass if ryadic, tasty, zetetic, and grid had all joined too and we got to be the old team.
Oh god dammit
E: But really that's kinda funny
Probably was randomly assigned, but still
I think it worked out all right! Definitely made some of the more powerful roles a little more resistant.
Some post-game examination:
4 High Council
9 outsiders (Domarians, Chasers, Task Force)
14 chaotics (Disciples, Followers, SPECTRUM, most Transcendents)
23 Arcadians (including the AERA masons)
Each SPECTRUM player had a one-off 150% attack, but it had to be called in the thread with a quote and a “Requesting artillery fire at these coordinates” statement. Likewise, the group as a whole had a nightly seering power with a similar mechanic; “Requesting background check on this subject”. Potentially could’ve thrown 750% at a single player in the right circumstances, which is a mite ironic considering that the Arcadian Military wasn’t high-health for the most part.
Had SPECTRUM ever reached the stage that they had a lone survivor, that lone survivor would’ve gained several immediate bonus powers that elevated them to a Transcendent-level role. I did not make this explicit, considering the Domarian incident last time, and unfortunately for them they never got the chance.
The Disciples and the Strike Force were destined to work together, and ideally the Followers would’ve become allies of SPECTRUM. SkyCaptain had some rotten luck calling in his conversions- his power only affected Arcadians, and he kept choosing players from different factions.
In a best-case scenario, the Follower(s) would’ve corrupted all the strongest Arcadian roles early, leaving the Disciples and Task Force utterly outgunned. As it was, SkyCaptain never got the chance and SPECTRUM took heavy losses, and the two scenarios that would’ve super-powered their faction (well, in a way) never came to pass.
At the very end of the game, Gumpy could’ve chosen to shaft the Village and kill off Arcadians rather than Chaotics. With a couple of redirected kills, the Chaotics would have outnumbered the Village and you guys would have been looking at a Total Chaotic Victory.
The Transcendents were designed to roam around killing things with impunity- until they started coming to blows, or until the Village began picking them off with vote-kills, which bypassed all their ridiculous defences. As expected, they inevitably started running the show.
Nocturne, who was actually fairly middling by Transcendent standards, did punch Gumpy in the face at one point- taking him below half health and proving that psychic resistance alone won’t always help.
The Task Force was originally the Controller Psychic, Hacker and Expert, and yes, having AJ and Egos in the same team made me decide to shake up the mechanics and turn the CP into a Doctor.
The High Council faction had a good mix of abilities but suffered for being Burnage’s sacrificial team mates- and the guy was constantly getting attacked. On the other hand, if he had ever targeted the New Renegade and met his Win Condition, the surviving High Councillors would’ve been very… different.
Oh, and Houn very nearly got himself killed Night 1. He had virtually every guard power in the game sent his way, and then he made the decision to use his doubling power on Gumpy, who originally planned to attack him. Fortunately for him ol’ Quicken changed his order and sacrificial guards came to his aid, but it might have gone very differently.
Though that might have been unlikely, given that with him alive, I had the equivalent of 300 health, and a potential 100 damage guard ability on myself.
Yo, hows it rolling Ebfan?
EDIT:
And like I said, our team was perilously close to killing just kuhl and not tt, but I screwed up on coordinating our attacks.
Well you sure were lucky that I ended up getting voted off. Also, I was totally right that Houn was doubling the power of a Transcendent bad guy in this game. He was just doing it unwittingly.
hehehehe, such good times
Thanks for running Edcrab! Another delightfully fun game

GT: batshido Hit me up on ME3.
Hey hey hey
No need to call me a bad guy, I was perfectly friendly
Nope. Robos refused to tell me since I knew no other Transcendents, and would have told you that I refused had I not revealed it to the thread.
Ask your buddy over there.
I eventually gave him a robot high five though.
I was bluffing to see if you knew anything that could help me!
I expected you to say you didn't know any Transcendents before, you know, going to the thread out of some misplaced sense of justice that only ended up helping me win my game anyway. If you had just said you didn't know anything, I'd have told you Ebfan's name, but still not Rend's.
And of course, if you had known of any other Transcendents, you could have probably convinced me to give up Rend as well as Ebfan.

I also wanted to wait until Ebfan was out of the game because who knows if they did have some Transcendent smuggling operation going on
Actually, in general it really worked out that all the Arcadians were just pawns in every other faction's plans. Which was pretty badass for us, but maybe not as much fun for the Arcadians
Short answer: yes. Long answer? The Village would have been very, very unhappy if both Rend and Nocturne had been Rogue.
You are a cultist who continues to honour the teachings of the Renegade in act and in word.
Your deadly enemies are the Disciples of the Forsaken Believer who turned their back on everything the Renegade stands for.
They think that there are many of you, assuming that the Followers have a member base as great as the Disciples. In truth, there's just you. But as a powerful empath, you intend to change that.
Faction: Chaotic
Sub-faction: Psychic
Attack: 50% (Psychic damage)
Life: 150%
Abilities
Brainwash: You target a player and convert them to your cause- they are introduced to you and you essentially become masons. Note! This will only work on members of the Arcadian faction. If they are a non-Arcadian, you fail to recruit them, and you will be told as such. This ability can be used nightly, instead of an attack.
Victory Conditions
Kill all the Disciples
OR
You and your converts must outnumber the Arcadians.
Meeting either win condition will remove you and your converts from the game.
(Yes, the Disciples are Chaotic too. But they’re not your kind of Chaotic.)
The disciples believed there were five true followers, but nope. Was just me all by my lonesome.
Yeah, I was a little worried as we were going into day 4 and such with now followers down. I was pretty much hoping we could get away with just killing all of spectrum.
Also a few people have asked me what would've happened to the last surviving SPECTRUM member, and since it's likely this role won't be used elsewhere, I thought I'd put it up. SPECTRUM players who don't want to get depressed, don't read on.
They would become...
Guess what you found in the basement of your headquarters.
This is the real reason the Arcadian military had so many budget issues. The project was thought cancelled, all the prototypes destroyed- but the thing about a mechanised war suit that turns the wearer into a batshit insane killing machine is that there’s always someone who wants to use it.
Faction: Chaotic
Sub-faction: Military
Attack: 100%
Life: 175%
Abilities
Defence Shield: The incoming attacks/negative abilities sent your way are reduced by 100%. This does not affect psychic damage.
Retaliation: Anyone who attacks you suffers an unblockable 50% attack sent in response.
Homing Missiles: Screw the antimatter shells, looks like someone left some AMTM-445 “Super Burnage” tracker munitions in the armoury. Every day, a random member of the Arcadian Military dies if you’re still alive. This is in addition to your standard attack. The Homing Missiles will not choose the same target as you.
Victory Conditions
They remain the same. Eradicate the Arcadian Military!
That would have been so awesome! I mean, look at all that! We would have gotten Homing Missles, hahaha! That would've been so cool!
Next time!

So was Sky Captain, but Sky Captain started as one guy and had to recruit all the rest (which apparently went over poorly for him).
Of course, several mechanics existed purely to cause controversy. Poor Houn and the un-narrated curing of the New Renegade!
Although Rend was in fact right about the incapability of a mere psychic to tame a transmuter, judged off the final narration...
