Cue 3 weeks of me not applying to jobs, while waiting on some sort of feedback other than "yeah man I'll get him yo put you on the top of the list" because I don't wanna have to say "Don't worry about it"
getting a job doing function waiting at the hyatt hotel, hopefully. Around 15-17 an hour, fairly long shifts late into the night, but oh well
We stuff our faces (as is customary in that place) and proceed to attack the soft serve machine
Two of us go and make ice cream cones ~1.5 feet in height, and we turn around to see two small children (about 7 years old) looking at us, mouths agape.
My friend looks at them and says

In my experience you do this, nothing happens for six months (or however long your unemployment insurance lasts) then you get like six interviews then three fucking offers at once
(all I'm saying here is yes, don't get discouraged or ever stop applying because getting hired takes for goddamned ever sometimes, especially now)
I turned it down because it would be awful and in a bad neighborhood

6'1" 230lbs checking in. I went to the doctor's a little while ago and the nurse taking my vitals and such told me that I should probably loose 50lbs. I started to laugh. Recently I've noticed the awful creaking noises my knees make when I squat down and stand are getting louder and if I do it more than a couple times in a row they start to ache.
I'm starting to think laughing was the wrong reaction. :cry:

Not saying it to sound like a jerk, just stating that I did similar things when I was looking for a job but my mum kicked my goddamn arse constantly, every day, so I had no choice but to just keep applying for jobs, and welp, I found one.
She was a massive bitch at the time, but in hindsight it was a good thing she did.

What I am saying is that I will dress up as your mum and come down to Canberra to kick your arse every day until you find a job.
