Test Slider Horror optional mod by IdolNinja added to the installer
Boosts all the slider values to the extreme so you can exaggerate all features (eyes, nose, brow, etc.) This will look WEIRD on your current character, and probably best for starting a new character or just messing around with.
No Ronin Jacket Logos by RedRage (Optional Mod)
Adds an option in the menu to remove the dragon logo from the back of Ronin Jackets. This is only for the male and female Ronin jackets, and not Jyunichi's that has morph issues.
The following clothing items have been fixed so that they no longer pixelate through inappropriately when worn by female characters:

If you paid a bit of attention during Saints Row 2, you could kind of guess which of the main characters wouldn't make it. Carlos dies during the Brotherhood storyline and Gat spends several missions in the hospital during the Ronin storyline. As a result of this Carlos is nowhere to be seen in the Samedi and Ronin storylines and Gat is curiously absent during all the Brotherhood and Samedi shenanigans.
Pierce and Shaundi, on the other hand, emerge from the story unscathed (well, OK, Shaundi gets kidnapped at the start of one mission, but she's rescued by the end of it). As a result, Pierce and Shaundi show up all over the place.
I understand why Volition did this. Either you have a bunch of potential glaring continuity errors or you make multiple cutscenes for the same mission. One would be unacceptable, the other expensive.
Still... with all the effort they seem to be throwing behind The Third I'm wondering... no, hoping that they do make multiple cutscenes for the same missions so that the canny observer won't be able to predict which (if any) of your crew kicks it during the game based on the cutscenes alone.

It needs to go in your saves directory and replace the one that the game created. You can find it here:
C:\Users\[profile name]\AppData\Local\THQ\Saints Row 2\settings.dat
Usually if you run the game first that way, then set your settings, then it will work. Also, windowed is always much more stable than full screen with SR2 (as weird and contrary to logic as that is.)
The creative error message is also sound related. One user has reported that unchecking the Disable all enhancements option in their speaker properties fixed the crashing:
Control Panel -> Sound -> Speakers -> Properties -> Enhancements -> Disable all enhancements
hopefully changing the speaker settings will make everything else redundant. I can't start the game at all and I already tooled around with the old James Brown save I had going.

The only other mod that some people liked over GotR was the handling mod which lowers sensitivity for kbam players while driving. With the release of GotR beta 11, the handling mod has been integrated as an option you can select during the build process (with Ink0gnito's blessing.)
The bottom line is that GotR includes 99.99% of all SR2 mods as either part of the base install, or as optional with the new menu installer.

I mean, in a GTA game, you might put some nice cars in your garage, but you NEVER use them because 99% of the time you're going to lose them. In the row, there's no problem. I guess one of your highly loyal old people picks up the car for you.

When you put a car in your garage, It STAYS in your garage, even if you take it out for a drive. I mean, in a GTA game, you might put some nice cars in your garage, but you NEVER use them because 99% of the time you're going to lose them. In the row, there's no problem. I guess one of your highly loyal old people picks up the car for you.
It's also cheaper to blow them up and get them back out than repair them.
Gotta love SR2.

Also, Powertools can cause crashing on cutscenes if you have outdated Direct X libraries. Go directly to Microsoft and use their web installer to confirm you have the latest and greatest:
