Fun fact. Arivia tried to convert mEEksa the other night; this failed, since mEEksa was already Redeemed. So, due to how harsh the Cult's conversion power was, going into today mEEksa had Arivia's name (not role name), her win condition, and the knowledge that she had a conversion power.

    Good work, team.

Also, re: village win condition. If you'd taken out all the original Redeemed by day five, I would have called the game (or at least fast-forwarded the Metempsychosis). Considering that there were, at the beginning of the game, four anti-Redeemed kills a night (five if Gumpy used his power on a villager/Cult member), then this was not at all absurd. Also, apologies about the sudden "ALL YOUR ABILITIES ARE DISABLED" yesterday, I thought I'd given enough sign-posting with the narrations about how a vote would end the game. And since, in the order of actions, vote came first...

I don't understand how that was misunderstood honestly....

Me neither. It always made sense to me, which is why, in the absence of any better information, I tried to take the voluntary conversion route to try and get a larger group win as soon as the primary village win condition was no longer available.

Hehe, I'll be honest, I was really tempted.

But Ringo.... did you read what you said today? And how people reacted? This was on the day when the only option a villager had to win was to convert. And they didn't do it.

Can you imagine how poorly that would have gone over earlier?

Edit to above: Yeah, I thought it was fairly self-explanatory haha. And thanks for being sensible shal! :P

I'm still a villager, along with (hopefully) everybody but Shalmelo and Arivia. And Jobastion. Really don't know why Job has suddenly decided to vote himself for the big spot.

I've still got a Win Condition and I'm trying to fill it. Vote for me! I AM YOUR COMMUNICAITONS GOD.

Okay, this bugged me before I fell asleep: how did you know I wasn't a villager?
You voted for Shalmelo, thus identifying yourself as Redeemed? Of course that was totally wrong, but that's what it looked like. You voted for a Redeemed to take the chair.

No. The Redeemed could not be converted.

Honestly, how I was expecting this to play out was roughly... mafia manages to spread the word about voluntary conversion, the village slowly realised "hey, yeah, this could work", the vast majority converted, then the remainder of the game was spent hunting down the Avatar of Bythos.

And just to make Ringo and scrivener feel extra-good about themselves, if a Redeemed member had been voted for Metempsychosis last night then every single player would have achieved a partial victory.

Oh, you were talking about that. Yes, I did actually throw a conversion PM Burn's way and vote so the Redeemed wouldn't go after me.

Also, MVP award goes to Jobastion of course. Christ he did a ton this game.

The best part. I actually told the redeemed that I was just a lacky, calling kills for god.

Never told ME that, did you....jeebus.

I told Rawkking. Though I told him that Gonmon was god.

And shit, I really was trying to get the village win. And SimpsonParadox was one of the two converted.
Told ya redeemed too. But NOOOO, couldn't accept your god's rule could you. Just had to fight back, didn't you. Serves you right.

Dear village. I am truely sorry. That sucked. You deserved better, because quite frankly, as far as your win condition from burnage went, you were (mostly) completely awesome.
And hilariously, I would have let the redeemed win if they'd presented someone other than you, shalmelo, as their front man for the vote. I handle my grudges very, very carefully. And am an angry god.

See? We were evil. Jobastion honestly went for most of the game not believing we were the bad folks. This was fun, Burn, thanks.

I had to believe that. Willful ingnorace. It's a wonderful trait. That, and I was using all the wiki's and stuff to explain to everyone else how bad the bad guys were. It worked wonderfully. I didn't even know I was being evil until burnage posted the final narration. You all played perfectly into my hands that are typing words right now without their mind knowing what's going on at all. The meatbag these hands are attached to is a fool.... but you can trust us. We're his hands. We know what's going on :)

Also, how the fuck do I keep ending up as "mafiaish" in situations where I have no reason to actually believe that I'm mafia, then leading the good guy network. This makes no sense. Twice now. This really was just RGH all over again. (Ok, I won this one... but still, close)

You ended up winning, so I suppose I can't blame you too much. I blame the villagers who listened to you.

They mostly weren't getting voted for. That was the beauty of the situation.
(Tim was, but... as he mentioned, he might have been high, possibly drunk, and managed to miss the 48 hour day to come back at 30 minutes or less to vote close with a full bandwagon of doom on him)
All the others just got vig'd early on.

Tim actually sent me his role pm... from when he was a citizen of the world. Really, really high/drunk.

Oh yeah, I'm still thanking Burnage for running this Phalla, not boooing it like I said I might earlier.

This was actually a pretty neat concept.

  • kime wrote: »
But again, on that last day, it all changed. I agree that in the context of the game, we were evil for most of it. Just that last day, when normal villagers are going "gahhh mafia, don't let them win even if I lose!" it kind of breaks apart the game. You always play towards your win, which apparently is a difficult concept.

Oh well, it was fun sparring with Job :P.

To the best of my knowledge (I was just cruising these last few days, if you couldn't tell :P) I was the only one to suggest that we damn the Redeemed and keep on trucking. I sort of had a reason for that :P

Also, I would like to thank Jobastion for allowing his humble servant to join in on the win. I did all of one kill, but I like to think that kill made absolutely no difference. Sorry, Fatal.

Also, I assume that the message sent to me that I could either convert to the Redeemed or lose my abilities was not, in fact, a convert, but rather a ploy by the mafia to get me to join up on their side by PMing Burnage that i'd join the Redeemed? They stopped me from firing my vig on day 3...but didn't get me to join. Village win condition, ho!

-edit- Thank you very much for running this Mini, Burnage!

If Arivia had been elected, it would have counted as destroying her and the Redeemed would have won (although the naive village and living players wouldn't have received a partial victory, and fluff-wise humanity would still be doomed).

And Job, it's a wonderful color scheme! Meanie! Really though, the reason I did that was because in the past week and a half or so, the three phallas or minis or whatever I've been in, I was mafia in every one.
