Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Hmmm, POST (the part of the government that employs scientists to try and get basic facts through to the thick skulls of MPs) is looking for PhD students for three month placements. To get in they want two pages on energy policy.

Two pages seems about one and a half pages too much when all that needs to be said is,
"NUCLEAR POWER + MORE MONEY INTO FISSION = NO MORE ENERGY PROBLEMS"
Throw in some stuff about solar and wind to deal with peak demand. Also that clean coal is simply paying for scientists to holiday in the Bahamas.

More like East Asian, but anyway, these particular French people are only staying in halls for a couple weeks.

Last five or so pages of their [chat] thread.

The problem with people from Paris is they're a combination of all the worst aspects of incredible distance, and familiarity with strangers at the same time. With a helping of arrogance and isolationism. Of course this isn't all of them, there are plenty of nice ones, but that's far too frequent.

New series of Strictly starts tonight. The line-up doesn't seem particularly impressive this year.

The PS3 has proven itself to be fun so far. Siren is proving very interesting as a concept and I am enjoying the game, but man the first episode was immensely short.

Writer's Block isn't going to ruin his life, he ruined it himself by plagiarizing, they're just making sure he follows through.

Indeed. Sequins and silliness followed by a trawl through the depths of human idiocy and cringing awfulness with fantastic jokes. Good times.

The line up is never impressive. The game is always trying to work out which one from each couple if the "celebrity".

They wouldn't be French if they couldn't get into low-speed accidents, get out of their cars, yell and gesticulate wildly at each other, then get back in their cars and drive off.

:edit: I watched this from the top of the Arc de Triomphe personally, in fact.

How dare you suggest that the guy who plays the village idiot on Eastenders and someone on The Bill aren't celebrities. Actually, I don't mind if they're nonentities. I wouldn't have been able to pick Alesha Dixon out of a lineup before Strictly, but was glued to the screen whenever she came on and just annihilated the competition.

I am also looking forward to the British So You Think You Can Dance.

You do love your countdowns. 3 and a half hours for me. Then home, then off to help babysit my wenches nephews for the evening and watch some telly. Then two days of footloose and fancy-free activity as she's off supporting her friend on the Great North Run.

Often. When you leave Albert Square you invariably end up in uniform at Sun Hill.

I'm told they can sometimes take a wrong turn and end up at Holby.
