Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I'm sure this is an issue many of us have some experience with.
I'm currently looking at my student loans kicking in, and I'm fairly ignorant as to how to approach consolidation. Can you guys recommend specific agencies or companies that you've have positive experiences with?
Also, as another major sticking point, typically speaking, even after consolidation, can loans be deferred if you return to school full time?
Any and all tips, experiences and general advice are welcome.
Hmm It's been 3 years for me so I may be incorrect
Digging into the recesses of my gmail account it looks like this is what happened to me.
After filling out the forms online, I received a "we got your application" email, which says I received written confirmation regarding my application in 5 business days.
Since I consolidated perkins loans with other loans, I needed to sign a form from my University stating it was okay for that to be put into early repayment. And of course, I was told to keep paying my loan if I had gone into repayment.
So to finally answer your question, it looks like it took around a week for me.

I've done this it's definitely possible.
I found the best consolidation to be through the department of education.
It looks like their website is: http://loanconsolidation.ed.gov/index.html.
