Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

some shit is significantly nerdier than others
that star wars thread is a blight on the universe
My favourite deck of all time was my Firebreathing Ornithopter deck. So many good times.
I thought I smelled perfume and weakness. A crane, nothing like little girls in dresses who are to afraid to actually face someone in honorable battle.
I hated Crane decks, but man was it fun to burn them to hell with my true warriors.
Then lock it for being such. Not because it's too nerdy.
kakos: That sounds incredible!
are you slow?
I love Crab decks because it was so easy to make them realise that they are barbarians and run away like the bitches they are.
No. I just don't equate the two.
I'm down with the Crab.
One of my finest CCG moments involved a Crane player. There was this dude who played a Shinsei's Shrine Crane honor deck in tournaments. I dunno if you remember those decks, but they basically did a mad run to 40 honor. It was furious unstoppable masturbation with an expensive net-deck and absolutely no fun to play against.
I did a sealed event against the same guy for the Honor Bound release. Played Crab. Did a slow crawl to 40, backed up by insurmountable defense. At 35 honor, he threw down his cards and shook his head and said, haltingly, "I can't do anything against you... I can't stop you."
It was beautiful.
*sniff*
You know Kakos I would put good money we actually played each other at a tournament if you ever went. I think I only really won using my Unicorn deck, damn ponies were always cheap.
Most fun deck I ever had was my "You can't do that!" Phoenix deck. It was a pain to play right but when I did it was a beast.
oooh can I watch?
A DnD phalla about people playing Xbox Xna while watching board game porn.
Sure, if I actually do any of them.
Let me tell you something about myself, I start projects. I do not finish them, like, ever.
I just need a lot of motivation.
Though I do have a lot of potential motivation for the XNA game and the board game because money may become involved at some point.
can i help?
I think game design is neat I just have never actually done it professionally or really amateurally or really at all except this one time i designed an RPG system in high school
LEISURE SUIT FERAL
_J_ having sex with your mom
that's weird given what I normally listen to these days
but I guess not so much given all my past tastes which weren't metal but could lead to that I suppose
oh my
I loved Unicorn decks too, but Crane Honour decks were my forte, as well as Scorpion Dishonour. And it is quite possible we played against each other; I did pwn a lot of Crab n00bs in my day. I usually played at Mile High Comics whenever they hosted a tourney, but I went to a couple of other places.
Well, you could maybe help, but then I'd have to pay you.
Are you any good at graphic design?
I heard this but haven't seen it in any of the actual news sites or the paper. So I am still skeptical.
That guy in the middle looks pretty gay. He probably designs shitty video games or something.
in feral dollars.
(dildos).
Chain emails?
How slow are you?
Obviously. I'll even bet those shitty video games keep getting rehashed every year or so.
I played over at Attactix a lot. Mostly my crab deck, usually could place in the top 3 if I was having a good day. But the Uni's were pretty nasty in gold if played right and Phoenix really grew on me just before gold came out. What's funny is I never actually had a Phoenix enlightenment deck when they were the big thing, just had my action reaction deck.
I miss the game, but I hear they changed a whole lot with whatever game after Gold.
That House avatar is so good for you.
But despite being pretty shitty games, I'm sure they're loved by a lot of people because they have fond memories of liking the games when they were 6 years old and didn't know what a good game was, so they cling to this franchise of shitty games that gets rehashed every couple years with no marked improvement or innovation and look over the incredibly vapid game play because of nostalgia.
Graphic design, yes. Art, no.
I could probably design a good UI, but I can't draw art assets for characters or anything.
And yet they still roll in the dough. They might even try to make "new" games, and just toss the same characters into different situations, like tennis or even soccer. And then keep rehashing those games.
I can't remember when I quit, but it was relatively early. I remember picking up the L5R RPG recently and reading through the history and I was blown away by all the shit that had happen. I think I quit before the Second Day of Thunder happened in the card game.
That's actually exactly what I need, I'm having trouble designing a UI that doesn't look like shit for this game. I should be able to handle all the rest of the art (characters, etc) myself. I also am pretty confident in my programming skills (though it's all very much a learning process for me).
For real, we could work together on this project, I can give you a cut of the profits (we'll have to negotiate that) if it ever gets on to Xbox Live. Like I said, I have a lot of trouble forcing myself to finish projects, but if I have someone else relying on me getting my shit together I do a lot better.
The game I'm designing is basically just Mafia (the party game) for Xbox Live. It would all be played through the mic. It would feature customizable cartoon avatars and a good number of custom game-type options, but in general it would be a pretty simple game. Interested at all?
Hahaha. Like that would ever happen. I mean, the video game industry would have to be populated by some of the most idiotic consumers ever for that to happen.
