I have to somehow stop reading the philosophy thread, because it makes me want to pull my brain out and bang it against the wall until it stops hurting.
I just sent in my application to West Point. My dad and step-dad both said that if they single you out on their own accord and encourage you to apply, it means that they've already taken a look at you and decided that they want you. They've both been out of the service for awhile, and my dad wasn't even in the army (He was a marine) so I don't know how true this is, but I guess it won't hurt to apply.
Now I need to talk to my platoon sergeant and get an endorsement from the company commander. -_-
This is cool, though. If I get in, I get to go to college, I get to go somewhere that isn't hot as balls, I'll get paid as a sergeant to go to school, and most importantly I'll be able to transfer to intelligence or even aviation, because they'll void my current contract and let me negotiate a new one, and I'll get hella priority on getting what I want.
And I'll be at least a Lieutenant, possibly even Captain depending on what assignment I get.
