Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
[STEAM] New Calculator w/ Regional Prices (Page 98)
Posts
I hate you, I wanted to play either of my new games tonight. Guess I'll be waiting until later in the week.
Monkey Island crept up from 25% to 26% since my last post. Amazing.
Wait are you serious? I have never EVER had a game download at more then 200kb/s. It seems to max out there.

150KB/s
Download TCPview: TCPView
Then, use TCPview (run as admin if you're on Vista) to close all Steam TCP servers (this is important, NOT the UDP ones, just the TCP ones). Steam will then reconnect to a different server, which will hopefully get you a better speed. If you don't go faster in a couple of seconds, retry until you get a speed you like.
This shit totally needs to go into the OP, I've tipped this to so many people already.
From the OP, might help...
edit - Infact, this might help me get a decent server for MI...must try it.
When I had 2 games at once this Sat they were both over 1 Mb/s. 4 games at once and it was about 400-600 Kb/s each.
All the calculator does is take what games you own and adds up how much it would cost to buy each one. It doesn't know:
- If you got a game in a package
- If you got a game on sale
- If you got a game when it was more expensive
- If you got a game for free in a promotion
Etc.

Yeah, that's how it works.
For me, it took what was left in my paypal balance and charged the rest on my credit card. It might do the same for you.
I pronounce it bee-log.
Edit: So, I had HL2 and HL2:E1 available as gifts, but now they seem to be gone?
I'm at $693. I think HL2, The Episodes and the Orange Box are the only ones Ive paid full price for.
Picked up Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Grid, That madballs thing, Left 4 Dead off steam, and the Crysis Maxpack thingy off D2d... So much for that PS3!
I pronounce it bee-log.
Stop trying to play games on ENIAC
Any way I can change that without going into the game?
I don't see how anyone could have trouble running Monkey Island.
"You own 128 games worth: $1,703.75"
Good god.
What's weird is that it lists 128 games there, but my Steam page shows 152.
Free games like Trackmania?
It will have packages in the future.
Free games are usually excluded, since they don't have listed prices.
Monkey Island needs a P4 3.0GHz / Athlon 64 3000+
Evil Genius on the other hand needs a 800MHz PIII
Crazy times we live in.

I don't think mine can either, but that's not going to stop me from getting ME anyway and hoping for the best. *fingers crossed*

Great job on the site. I am very impressed you built the comment/publishing system from the ground up. It was probably a huge headache to start, but totally worth it in the end.
I liked that.
A lot.
It feels both so wrong and so right...
Me blogging about my (amateur) indie game programming
Pretty much no MP. Some people found out how you could create custom maps for it, but there's never been any official support or anything like that and thus not much came of it.
Definitely worth $5, though.
If only I had some money in my account for the last few days...
I caved in...
I got Saint's Row 2 for my unused 360, and all the WH40k stuff...never played Company of Heroes and Red faction though. So I think it's worth it.
Plus Saints row on the PC should be fun.
