Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

I think it's because I couldn't empathize with the main character at all for some reason.
Well, it's good that she's supportive in that sense. The rest of it, at least to me, makes it sound like "All men are evul!" type stuff. I'm sure it's not the case but upon first reading it that's how it sounded.
*Hakkes cowers*
the game was basically marketing itself as a GTA-style MMORPG
what
what exactly were you expecting?
what it is showing off in videos and such is consistent with what they are marketing the game as
which was a open-city crime game where you played as criminals or cops
like a hi-tech online cops and robbers
do you honestly think all games in the same genre are the exact same?
because let me tell you
GTA4 and Saints Row 2 are pretty different games, despite being ostensibly being the same genre of game
Cesca's Mum has published books on Feminism.
I have never read them, and I'm not certain that it would be a good idea to.
With mother fucking chocolate sauce.
Haiiiiii
I should probably just give up on this conversation at this point but...
You realize you can't dodge things in 99% of MMOs on the market, right?
By making it so you can dodge projectiles, and the enemy can dodge yours, you create a basic level of mind games and strategy that will hopefully lead to some good yomi.
I knew you were into that kind of stuff.
Gross.
Oh...well then that sort of explains why I got that impression.
I have 1 hour until I go watch football
but no one is playing TF2 on a sunday morning!
Well, what happened was I was using it on the train and playing some Monkey Island for a short bit so I changed it from power-save mode to high performance (I only had a few more minutes), I played it a bit and then the screen went dark but I could still hear the music, so I shut it down. Then when I got home I tried to plug it in and turn it on and the blue "I'm starting" lights popped up but the screen didn't change. I tried plugging it into my mom's monitor and that worked, and I went to use the window's repair thing, but then it shut off. Now my computer won't do anything, even flash any lights or anything.
I plugged it in to charge it and left it for a while, didn't work. I tried pulling out the battery and plugging it directly into the wall, didn't work. I'm seriously freaked out now.
If you port your number over to a new carrier your previous carrier will usually cancel your service automatically.
That's some pretty specialised porn, man.
your new carrier takes care of it
Were you planning on bringing your cell phone number to another carrier?
This started with "Don't show me character creation, show me gameplay.".
Moved into "Gameplay doesn't look like anything I haven't seen before."
And finally into "Dressup in GTA4 for $15 or whatever a month isn't a feature that's going to get me to play the game, when I can already do it for free in GTA4."
she's not a rabid feminist at all.
She just had a paranoia about me dropping out of Uni. I think. Plus, she had me essentially wrapped in cotton wool from when I was 12 'cos I'd been so ill for so long.
Yeah, since I'd rather not be arsed to figure out who to tell. Plus you can't port Google Voice numbers, I don't think.
So they take care of everything? Good, good.
the majority of MMORPGs on the market right now use more or less the same gameplay concepts and combat system.
in basically every MMORPG right now you click on a target, who stays your target until you change your target, and you press number keys until he dies.
you can't "miss" unless the game's to-hit rolls say you miss. the actual player's ability to aim or maneuver is largely irrelevant
MMORPGs do this for a bunch of reasons. the main one is WoW does it, and WoW is the MMORPG that makes all the others say "Marsha Marsha Marsha!"
but it's also a networking issue. MMORPGs have to do massive amounts of more data management and packet moving compared to say, a game of TF2. Real-time aiming, being able to actually move around and the player's actual skill and hand-eye coordination, is a difficult thing to net-code for a MMORPG and it makes most MMO developers shy away from it.
APB is rocking out with it's cock out and having real-time aiming, which is a big deal for MMORPGs.
but, you're just being a whiner
so this post is mostly irrelevant
damn it, you lizard people are tricksy.
Might aswell as be playing everquest man.

Oh I don't actually think she is, I was just teasing. Moms worry about their kids, it isn't always logical. I get it.
Out of curiosity, why are you so sick? If it's ok to ask, that is.
She tried to suffocate you!?
And this is an inaccurate characterization of what the game offers. Since you can't see that we're done here.
At any point was it bumped around possibly? Did you try taking the HD out and then put it back in then try and restart?
It's sounding eerily similar to what happened with my laptop when some O/S files got corrupted. Wound up having to format and start from scratch. But I was still able to turn it on, just kept conking out at the windows loading screen, then blue screen, then restart.
real men play Saints Row 2
8-)
