Today, I vomit on the Nobel Peace prize and it's committee.
Careful, you might get the next peace prize
at the very least an exhibition at MoMA

Shit like those comments is eroding my faith in humanity. Also I hate how everybody assumes president Obama was born the second he started running for president and never did anythin before. "why don't we know anything about this mystery muslin?!?"

It's no that he hasn't done anything, there's people out there who have done more for world peace
And he's been pretty focused on domestic issues right now, which is what confused me first.
I was only clarifying what Deacon was referring to. I think you read too much into that post.
I actually find it pretty amusing that Deacon's pointing that out since I'm pretty damn sure he's perfectly fine with Guantanamo Bay.
But objectively it flies in the face of what the award is supposed to represent.
I can't decide if this is a "let's give Obama a boost he needs one" move or a "damn he's kind of going centrist, let's try and force him to the left" move.
[...] and one part to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses[...]

I'm okay with people arguing his overall merits as far as this is concerned. I don't think Obama was exactly the 100% choice here. My problem is with the people who refuse to acknowlege that Obama ever did anything before he was president.
Even they aren't as bad as the people who have to make shit up when saying why he sucks. I am sure there are legitimate reasons. And I wish people would find those and use them instead of remaining ignorant and saying he is "socializing" the country and isnt an American citizen.
Also go away blues. Nobody wants your shit today. Obama wanted to close guantanamo but the realities are a lot more complex than that and you can't just shut it down right away.
Look, Artreus,
I know he can't do everything. There are practical limitations to what the president can do. I certainly don't hate the guy, and I think he's doing a number of things right.
The thing is, the Peace Prize has sometimes been given to people best described as moral heroes. Obama's a good guy and all, but I don't believe he fits into that category. A WTF? is warranted.
How about the Democratic National Committee itself?
Either sensing an opening to cast the Republican Party as actively rooting against America, or just fed up with the stream of negative responses, the Democratic National Committee put out an unusually blunt statement Friday morning. The gist: that the GOP sides with the terrorists.
"The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists -- the Taliban and Hamas this morning -- in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize," wrote DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse. "Republicans cheered when America failed to land the Olympics and now they are criticizing the President of the United States for receiving the Nobel Peace prize -- an award he did not seek but that is nonetheless an honor in which every American can take great pride -- unless of course you are the Republican Party. The 2009 version of the Republican Party has no boundaries, has no shame and has proved that they will put politics above patriotism at every turn. It's no wonder only 20 percent of Americans admit to being Republicans anymore - it's an embarrassing label to claim."

don't you just kinda fall?
Do you get a prize for not dying?
I don't think so. Besides completely alienating the US from 75% of the world, Bush pretty much wrecked the economy for Obama to fix.
Go to Hell.
Haven't spent a lot of time here, have you?
Hint: wasn't a serious post
welcome to SE dumbshit, you might want to lurk a while before you continue posting and making more of an idiot of yourself
How could one tell the difference?

Remember when Obama promised that if we passed the stimulus NOWNOWNOW we'd keep unemployment at 8%?
God damn Bush!!!
Like continuing to hold people he can't charge?
It burrrrrrrrrrns.
What do you mean?

I mean if they gave him the Peace Prize now what are they going to do in four years time when Obama has stopped all world conflicts
You sure know how to make an entrance, Deacon.
Fixed
"Better than Bush" is a very low bar to meet.

well
obama sure is a president.
Look there's only so much smarmy hypocrisy I can take. 8-)

Maybe he's the one who has done this more than others in 2009?
a wake-up case of coffee shits?
I'm so sick of people just spewing out hate. God.

More like, "Well, if that just isn't the dumbest thing ever..."
I know you hate Obama, but is your idea of an upstanding African-American politician Michael Steele?
Is that who you see as a role model for the African-American community?
The Huffington Post just reported that the DNC issued their statement on this issue; Republicans have sided with the terrorists.
Rename it the Obama Peace Prize!
