as a cubs fan it's more fun to see the cardinals do well because the rivalry between the cubs and the cardinals is way more fun than the one between the brewers and the cubs

Back in 2003 when I was in the army we played a lot of Madden and NCAA football. It wasn't a rule but it was considered good form to pick the team you were a fan of. This usually resulted in people picking the teams that were where they were from but there were 2 or 3 people that just had to always pick the best team, which at the time was Tampa Bay. I was from Tampa and this annoyed the hell out of me. Though I could usually go with Miami or Jacksonville and crush them because they were terrible players

I think a lot of the reason cardinals and cubs fans get along is that generally it's been kind of a one-sided rivalry, so there's no point gettin' mad about it
just as long as you don't pretend to have been a huge fan of them for years or whatever
