Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Done.

Got my little fleet up and running and life is good!
Thats because I bought all of them
Steam
I found a bitchin' L3 RE engine for it and I am clocking in at 720 speed... and I'm only T2. My T5 vaksai only goes about 1200.

To all of those returning vets and new players alike,
Everything still running smooth after the zombie push?

I'm up to T3 now and the levels start really going fast.
Of course, I am always taken aback at why there are vapor trails in space here.
Does it remain viable to use Kb+mouse into the higher tiers?
Just wondering as i really like how precise it is at the lower levels, maybe I just need more practice with the joystick.
At Tier 3 its going to start getting hard and its going to approach impossible by Tier 4, or at least very difficult.
Mostly due to throttle control.
Options:
Kill Hutt fighters: only one wave per waypoint, so it takes forever to get the fights up to anything interesting and/or xp-granting. Right around when it gets interesting, it invariably stuffs the spawn right next to 6-8 tier 3 imps.
Capture imp ships: maybe 9 enemies total per ship captured, at 400/enemy. Ceeerap.
Escort smugglers: See above.
It's going to take forever to burn through another 2 blocks of this.
Check swg.wikia.com for handlers.
I did most of T3 today. I especially like the part where I did this insanely long/hard mission and at the end I got a full level of experience as a reward.
I am ambivalent about moving from the Tie/In to the Tie Interceptor since the Tie/In is
1) Awesome in almost every way
2) Has higher mass than the Tie Int
3) Not really missing the second gun slot since with one decent gun you can own faces anyway
I can't wait to move up to the Actis, aka the most imbalanced ship in the game.
I have an elite harvester working on low-grade ore. I suspect that by tomorrow at lunch I'll have enough ore to get me to 86 and start crafting shit worth selling.
We took on huge mobs of ships and the worst we got scratched was our back shield got down to about 50%.
Mind you this is with only 4 gunners. With 8... oh god.
I loved this game. Too many experiences with friends with LAN and raiding Imperial Cities or exploring new planets. All the player options with crafting and the like should make this game in any Top 10 MMOs.
yes
i shall be back tonight, see you around.
(Niemee, by the way.)
I should have enough ore tonight to grind to 86.
My alt pilot is stuck on a stupidly hard Tier 3 mission where I have to fly into a cauldron of Tier 4 X-wings and Z-95's, and at least 3 Tier 3 A-wings.
I have to:
Kill all the tier 4's, disable the A-wings, inspect with and dock with one of the A-wings, fend off a 5-fighter counter-attack, and then some other shit.
I don't see how it is soloable at all.
Finally got mine fixed up and running well and it's a lot easier trying to tackle the faster ships.
Now that I'm starting to use better equipment and droid commands on a regular basis, should I be worried about decay? I really have no clue how it works in ships and could find very little info regarding it.
/escapepod yes (iirc) will nulify all decay. plus the bonus of returning you to the space station

I mean, I could be wrong, but I've taken some beatings and haven't seen much decay.
But I also eject a lot.
My poor little level 3 outfitted dunelizard was trying it's best to take out a-wings and finally after wave after wave of fighters and escorts and captures, we managed to stay alive long enough to complete the mission.
That was some intense flying, but my question now is: is there friendly fire in space? If I go flying with others again I'd hate to be messing up firing lanes and damaging them if that's the case.
I got to 86 yesterday so I am going to start building some ship components.
I got some ridiculously good resources for component building so I think I can get some 99%'s
I have materials for engines and armor..
If anyone is collecting resources, look out for:
Gravitronic Fiberplast and Conductive Barbratic Copper
I need boat loads of those.
I think I can build an engine in the 115-120 speed range.
Then I'm going to build a YPR engine for my Firespray because Firesprays turn like shit.
I need to learn about reverse engineering...i don't know a damn thing.
*Edit*
1111 speed no booster/droid commands.
Reverse engineering is simple, its just a matter of getting a good value chart. Basically, about 10-20% of looted space items have one stat that is really good and the rest are crap. You just pile up a bunch of components each with one good stat and merge them together, and it takes the best stats from the group.
Even if you don't have good stuff, you should still RE it, because it can result in Kuat Disks which can either be sold for a few hundred K or collected to make Firesprays.
Some RE components are unbeatable. RE Reactors, RE Armor, and RE weapons tend to be absurdly superior to anything you can craft, meanwhile, crafted engines blow most RE engines out of the water.
Ah nice, that's a relief to hear then. I felt bad when he flew in front of me and I saw my shots creating explosions on the poor little tie.
That plus /escapepod yes mean I'm not worrying about much until I hit master and decide to pimp out a jsf/work on getting a sweet POB.
Yes. We were all part of our own guild but we joined Sedai. You need to contact Zorgof for an invite. If he is not online contact me and I will see if he is on one of his alts. If he isn't I can at least sponsor you in and he can accept you when he come back online.
Currently we maybe have about six PA people that are online regularly. The Sedai people are cool and have been helpful. If you plan on being imperial they hold base busting operations (attack Rebel bases) regularly. We are living in Rauha which is Sedai's city. Zorgof is also the mayor so if you want to move here contact him. If you need a house I'll be happy to give you one and I will (probably) furnish it when I am bored

I run terminal missions once every day or two and gain a level til i run out of my 8 available.
what should i be doing with my time? i seem to spend all my freetime either blowing the hell out of things in kessel or dicking around in my house/other's houses.
better ideas for leveling than terminal missions?
I could be wrong though, it's been awhile.

Maybe 70.
I think Seaborn's problem is that he was already 30 something before the legacy quest so he would have to spend a week of catching up on the quest chain which would suck.
