Hey, I'm in Gainesville! I just heard about the Fest, it seems pretty crazy.
In other news, I have to agree that getting out of Florida is an excellent goal. Also, that North Florida is a completely different world from South Florida. Both are still terrible, but North Florida slightly moreso.

That wind was nuts, driving home was like driving through a sandstorm with all the sand and debris that got whipped up. Definitely enough to push my car a couple of inches this way and that way, which made bridges even more fun than normal.
On the plus side, as long as I live in Southern California I probably won't have to de-ice my car or shovel snow off a driveway (might have to shovel ash, mud or earthquake debris though).

I've only had one real snow day. It was only about half an inch thick. My dad and brother made the most pitiful snowman I've ever seen.
