I upgraded to Snow Leopard last week, and in order to make room I moved around a lot of music files. Post upgrade, I try to get everything organized the way I want it, but now most of my music has songs/files duplicated. And my ipod is set to automatically sync, and it too has the duplicate song syndrome. I can get itunes to show dupes, but what do I do from there? I am aggravated and think hunting and pecking all the duplicates out of my music collection is too laborious and risky. Can anyone give me some tips?
If you have a few items there is an option under the File menu: show duplicates. Then just command-click the ones you want to remove and delete them. Otherwise there are several scripts out there, google them.

I used Dupin when that happened to me a year ago. Worked fine.
Yeah, in some way or another. I'll try out Dupin, thanks!
