I actually just wanted to respond to this: Since it's for a husband and wife I figured I'd give them the ability to "choose" their own controllers if one or the other preferred, and you likely have no idea how obnoxious it is to run into a randomly low battery controller. Having each a different color makes keeping mental tabs on the battery life that much easier.
As someone with two stock black standard controllers I can attest to this. I can indeed.
