Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
X 3, in which with drive long, hard ships into tight, quivering gates
Posts
Yeah, especially since between Omicron Lyrae and the Home of Light are many Xenon and pirate sectors.
There's a shipyard just north of the Home of Light.
their ships are too pretty to destroy
I usually dominate them economically, or send a few M2s to show them who's boss
WELP
Is it from Reunion or something?
get a decent M3 and things get easier
also if you do the station defence missions (red target thing by the station, talk to them) a lot of the things that spawn are M4s and M5s which are scouts and very easy to kill, especially since they will ignore you to attack the station.

I'm trying to save up for a new ship but I can't seem to get enough money. I've got a freighter set up doing sector trading but other than that I've got like no income.
steal things
woah you can do that?
2) start plinking away at his hull
3) if you're lucky he'll eventually bail out (shoot the pilot for bonus points!)
4) eject and enter the nearly-deader to claim it (or something like that in a context menu somewhere)
5) get back in your original ship, do what you want with the derelict (usually "autopilot to the nearest shipyard so I can sell you")
Killed every last Paranid structure and ship.
After that things just got boring.
there's a 1/8 chance that they will never abandon it, and checks at various increments of time and hull integrity of whether they will do it or not. My tactic is to take out their shields and a bit of hull in one burst, wait maybe 5-10 seconds and if they say nothing I finish them off.
Does the surrender option on comms ever work?

I hate it when they say they're going to surrender, then turn around and empty a missile load into your cockpit. Fuck.

Yeah, my Nova Vanguard (Yog-Sothoth 8-)) has taken down quite a few M6's, but I really need to figure out a way to get my game exciting again. I'm at 4mil and cruising around the galaxy trying to get people to bail from ships is annoying and gets boring. Guess I should get some traders going or something.
Those Argon Centaurs are a joke for my Vanguard - I took one down without even losing 50% of my shield, haha.

Unlucky pirates (station defence mission in a pirate sector, these guys came through just after the pirate M6s):
Ooh pretty:
Got about 45 million credits just from traders and selling ships, gonna spend a bit of that on getting some more traders going and then wait until I can afford a destroyer and then I'm gonna wreck some shit.

a Ray is the Boron M2 by the way
I need something to remove enemy fighters though, I have 4 high energy plasma cannons top and 4 bottom, but they don't hit shit
I meant remove enemy fighters
a more effective anti fighter weapon
I am considering the energy bolt chaingun
I thought they didn't affect shields
I'd do a particle beam emitter, or a Plasma burst generator and hell I even tried chainguns, but damn the ray is picky
Looks like either flak or phased repeater gun
it's a pain in the but
Yeaaah, they ignore shields and do damage directly to the hull, which means they shred fighters immediately.
Did you take it to mean that shields stopped them completely?
yes I did
Do enemy fighters bail even if their shields are up? I guess no. Anyway, that'd be awesome but it doesn't look like my new trouble child can take them
I'm gearing up a new set of marines to capture another big daddy, I'm think a Python
Is there any advantage of playing either Terran Conflict or Reunion first?
looks like I'll be scrounging for flak
it's like the plasma burst generator but with a much larger effect area and 3 of them fired at once will shred through 1gj of sheilds in a couple of seconds (one shot)
