I too have lopped off a digit during a holiday! On Easter when I was 13 years old I took a butcher knife to my frozen easter bunny and ended up taking off half of my pointer finger on my left hand! I have some rad scars now.

yeah, it's incredible to observe how your mind and body behave when you injure yourself! this is my first major injury of any kind and it's totally a lame one

but yeah, they numbed my finger up pretty good before they stitched it back on. the numbing process was the worst part. I have about twelve tiny dots around the base of my finger where they injected the anesthetic, and every time they did it it felt like a tiny fishing hook dragging my entire finger away

The only time I ever had to get stitches was when my dog cut open my ear lobe with his tooth. He leapt up onto my chest when I was a wee lad and one of his sharp puppy canines snagged on my ear lobe and sliced it open lengthwise. It was so sharp it didn't hurt, but my mom freaked when she saw blood all over my shoulder.

I accidentally sliced part of one of my knuckles when I was removing a vegetable from our backyard's garden with a knife. It hurt a bit, and I was scared for a bit, but it healed up just fine. It looks like a shark tooth, now.

can't even remember now, but it wasn't an asparagus. It might have been a zuke or an eggplant, but I can not recall.

That is the worst WaM, glad to hear you are feeling better though. My dad did something similar to his left middle finger a long time ago, and the best thing I can tell you is as long as you take care of yourself and keep the finger clean you'll basically get like 95-100% functionality back in the tip.
