    Steam client update just now "Fixed registering GFW titles after preload decryption"

    Interesting, as it means that my BioShock 2 woes were likely tied to the combination of Steam and GFWL rather than Microsoft's platform on its lonesome

    Still, as an additional layer of validation it remains painfully pointless

    I believe so, complete with a lack of dedicated servers and a lack of optimisation

    Basically everyone should just throw money at Valve and integrate via Steamworks

    When GameSpy killed all of those terrible IPX over IP matchmaking services, it didn't stifle competition. It just provided for a period of stability with functional, multi-game matchmaking until a better platform was built.

    So, Civ4, what's probably the easiest victory to shoot for on lower difficulties besides time/score

    I've been winning by that and it's boring as hell

    Playing as Willem van Oraje (Fin/Cre) if it matters

    if you're Willem, a cultural victory shouldn't be too tough (w/ creative you get a big bonus to cultural expansion)

    bought it when it first came out and I can't activate anymore, have to go through steam support :(

    Yup. says I've exceeded the amount of activations allowed (which I've only used two to my knowledge), so I can't even launch the game unless I get my activations reset. Reading through the Steam forums its apparently a widespread problem with Anno.

    Some of my favorite game memories are playing all the battlefield games with PA folk. Tried the demo on the 360 and liked what it was doing but it also felt totally different due to the game pad controls.
