Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Halo3/Wars/Reach - REACH BETA = May 3rd; NEW REACH MULTI VID IN OP
Posts
edit: although maybe it would have worked better if we got a specific method down before there was two minutes left in the game
I logged in and nobody was playing Halo 3
I REALLY wish they got the original VAs since apparently Dutch was a member of the ODST team in Babysitter.
(Which is also the only short of Legends that I've seen.)
Unfortuantly it's arguably the best by a decent amount.
Damn women and their "no seriously just let me keep playing the wii"
"i'd like to play my 360 tonight"
"you'll be fine this'll only take a minute"
20 minutes later
"no seriously really soon i'll be done."

Halo 3 multiplayer is very much alive, though probably a bit hostile to newbies. There are people who have been playing since launch day, and know every trick in the book.
H3 Multi is also full of baddies. So there's a place for everyone.

Well that's just a given...
Pretty well. It's certainly more mainstream then your average RTS and I've gotten into it quite well, though I have some people to roll with.
Speaking of, Officer on Deck bitches. Two achievements left.
Seems there's a benefit to having a modem not from 2003..
this is another reason halo legends is the worst plague ever made
keep your sweaty weeaboo hands off of ODST and Reach, Frank O'Connor
technical tidbits:
"The AI has now been upgraded to double the battle size. There can now be up to forty AI running at a time. Plus, twenty vehicles. "
"There will be a combination of equipment and perks
Assassination is now much more difficult"
story tidbits:
Jorge is the only Spartan II
If he wasn't flag throwing, would he have been able to cap after the freeze?
EDIT: This was the final of a championship match, with this being the last cap. Triggers Down clearly had it sewn up, if it wasn't for this.
The ref ruled that the game had to be replayed and they lost 5-2. Now, I'm not one to follow MLG at all, but wow, that's a shitty rule.
@gamefacts - Totally and utterly true gaming facts on the regular!
So if he had just held onto it and walked over the cap point, he would have been on the cap point for whichever box became host.
"Assassination now requires you to hold melee for a second or so. You will then use your combat knife and stab them in the back. If they turn around before you held down the button long enough, the assassination fails. "
"Equipment and perks have been combined to create something that I think we can all be happy with. In a nutshell, you have to pick up a piece of armor upgrade. You then get one perk. You can only use one armor upgrade at a time. To change them, kill an enemy and swap them out. "
Reach also doesn't use skyboxes apparently - the entire sky is actually modeled to scale with the rest of the world, so they can do stuff like have ships come flying in and you can actually follow them for the entire trip.
Also agreeing with Lookfree here. Seems like the least elegant solution, but we shall see.
non-story/ new enemies details tidbits copied here:
- Reach will NOT follow the book, Fall of Reach.
- "Skully" now has a name, Emile 239. He's the silent type of the game.
- The sniper is called Jun 266. He's thoughtful and taciturn.
- We can customise the appearance of the Lone Wolf by a small degree. Awesome.
- The game is apparently darker than any of the other Halo games, even more so than ODST.
- Covenant soldiers no longer speak English, they speak in their own languages.
- Elites are back
- Larger scale combat will be in Reach. Where only 20 AI at a time could be on screen in Halo 3, now over 40 AI and 20 vehicles can be present at a time.
- Health Bar is back along with energy shield.
- Single shot rifle like the Halo 2 E3 demo is in the game, named the Designated Marksman Rifle (DRM)
- Sniper, AR and Magnum make a return. Gun sounds are more realistic.
- Needler Rifle is in the game, a mid-range headshot capable weapon.
- Spike Grenades and Flame Grenades are out. Only frags and plasma remain.
- Helicopter Transport is called the Falcon.
- Civillian vehicles are now drivable.
- Fully stealthy gameplay is now possible.
- Assassinations are possible with a knife by holding down the melee button.
- Sprinting is now possible through an equipment like mechanic.
- Spirits, the Covenant drop ship in CE, return in Reach, alongside Phantoms.
- Grunts look a lot more menacing.
- Motion Tracker seems compressed, like an oval rather than the Halo 3 circle.
- Hud is yellow rather than blue.
- Phantoms now have a flashlight, like the one seen in the ODST announcement trailer.
- Elites seem taller, and are no longer hunched.
- All features from Halo 3 (Forge, Theatre, Co-op) make a comeback along with several new ones.
because there's a hockey game on.
And dropping them when you die would make it so you can 'change your mind' halfway through the game.
edit:
there's even a pic of them driving a construction truck
BEEP BEEP
(still hoping for also having an actual map geometry editor though)
But if not I guess we'll get a disc Foundry/Sandbox this time.
Full-time driver.
8-)
can't wait for my issue of GI to come so i can see those nifty pictures
(do you still have pics of the ten man pile up you started, that thing was hilarious?)
Edit: When does GI come out/do they do it in the UK?
Thats what worries me most, Im guessing it just means a fancy animation when you do assassinate someone, but if its more than that it could ruin the flow of the game.
and jumping over peoples heads and assassinating them is always awesome, especially when its backwards
What it sounds like now is that the hold-B assasination is an instant kill, while the normal one might just count as a normal melee. They didn't say exactly how long it takes, but I imagine it cleans up / hides when you whack someone in the back and just bounce off, or insta-kill someone from the side.
That doesn't seem to fit with my grasp of Halo, but who knows. I'm a noob, anyway.
No business but war. No family but death. No mercy but the grave!
