Heavy Rain has a Collector's Edition that's only slightly more expensive than the regular edition. It comes with a code for the first DLC episode (the taxidermist one demoed a lot), the soundtrack and a dynamic theme. It's not available in the US though, PAL exclusive.
FFXIII has a PAL Collector's Edition as well but it's rubbish. The extra content consists of a Soundtrack selection (aka, a handful of songs from the game on a CD), an art book and a couple of art cards. And it's like NZ$50 more, which is ridiculous.

Huh, they'll probably delay it soon though. I guess Sega decided to kill Yakuza 3's sales instead, since they've announced its US release is on the 9th of March. It's a pity too, since Yakuza 3's one of my most anticipated games of this year (only beaten by Last Guardian).
Not at the end of May, but mid-May is the scheduled release date for 3D Dot Game Heroes. My next PS3 purchases are basically this, 3DDGH and FFXIII.
Unfortunately I now have to compete for the TV with the bf who got an Xbox360, Fable 2 and ME2 tomorrow. *facepalm*

Yup, comes out in 7 days. My only concern at this point is that the few review scores I've checked out have been kinda "Meh" on the multiplayer aspect of the game. But I'm ever hopeful!
I'm already planning on making my little town a hub of armor crafting activity. Or perhaps the go to place for magic items?

Seven days? Oh God! There are just too many good games in this window! I'll probably be fairly occupied with Mass Effect 2 for awhile, and then there's also Aliens vs. Predator in February.
Anyway, I don't necessarily know if I'd get this entirely for the MP. I'd play it every now and again, but I'm more interested in the light-hearted single player. Reviews have said it doesn't take itself too seriously and it's fairly refreshing. The Qore preview made it look even more appealing.
This game made me want a PS3 really bad a couple years ago. If it had not been delayed, I would have bought a PS3 instead of a 360 for sure.
I still want it, but it's releasing at a REALLY bad time. There's too many good games coming out that I want way more than White Knight. It has to take a back seat to Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2 unfortunately.
In all fairness, the male cashier looked like your typical Modern Warfare junkie, and the female cashier looked semi-goth with her bright pink dyed hair, industrial and labret piercings and I guess she'd be an Ivy in Soul Calibur 4?

Ditto, I was waiting for this game to come out, but I stopped waiting. With subpar reviews from the Japanese side, when it came out about a year ago, it doesn't speak to me the way it does anymore. If you ask me, Level 5 totally blew it. From what I'm looking at the vids and pics; I'd have to agree that this game is not as shiny as it was once depicted. They have not upped the graphics since 2006 of their showing and releasing 3.5-4 years later it does not do it justice. I think it's climax release date was 2 years ago, and should have been released in 2008. And the gameplay from what I hear, the battles (because I'm a guy - not so into fashion designing my char a million ways to enjoy that aspect) it's not really that great. The boss fights need the WK transform, but WK (on normal mobs) will just rape them. WK abuse is not balanced so it can make things trivial.
Sadly, I'll pend this as not a Day-1 buy, but a whenever-it's-$40-or-less-buy-pending-more-good-reviews-from-people-after-2-weeks-it's-release.
My own system of figuring what to buy, says it takes about 2 weeks to show a good bulk of the bad & good on games.
The reviews I've read say you can't just bust out the White Knight whenever. He's mostly going to be used on bosses. You're also reading reviews of Japanese copies, not updated ones either. They patched in a slew of things and the International version will have anymore.
You even said that you're not into certain aspects of the core gameplay, so why even bother saying anything?

Anyway, yeah I think I was most disappointed by the fairly simple story the game has. From what Akihiro Hino had said, it sounded like they were going for a FF-level epic storyline but then when more details came out, it started to sound more and more cliche. Add to that my disappointment that the battle system ended up so completely different from what they had originally shown in the target render.
It wasn't really until I started making this thread that I started getting hyped up about it again. And all the discussion about FFXIII's linearity has only boosted it.

If I'm not using it, I often have it set up so it plays voice through my speakers.
I have the micthat came with Warhawk (got it increidbly cheap) but I've never actually gotten it to work. Never even seen mic options in any of my games, so I guess that's why. I was hoping I could get it to play the game sound through the headset, but apparently it doesn't work that way.

You should have gotten some instructions with your headset on how to sync it to your PS3. It's pretty simple (I've got a Jabra headset too), just hold the button on the headset for 5 seconds, until the blue light comes on and then scan for it on your PS3. The Pass Key should just be 0000.

Oh, you mean playing all sound through the headset. I didn't get that. Uh... Yeah, I don't think the PS3 lets you do that.

Go to Accessory Settings, then Audio Device Settings. You can set your Input and Output devices there. Then talk into your headset, if the bar doesn't show any pretty colours, it's not on.
Edit: But yeah, you can't set the headset to be your speaker.
You can set all headset communication to come through the headset speakers which is more useful. Game audio through TV speakers, teammates through the headset.

Also, I had no interest in this game until I read this thread. Now I must have it.
This happened before with Demon's Souls and it sucked a month out of my life.
