I guess Left 4 Dead, huh

If you get it for PC I would perhaps be willing to play sometimes
but if you're getting it for single player, I'd recommend Resident evil 4 or 5 if you can

Saving up ammo for the contact beam until the final level was the best idea ever.

Whaaaaaat, there was an Uzi above the security door everytime you went out there. Those convicts die so easily with it.

There is an Uzi out there

dangit I wish I knew this before I let the broad die

meh, it still got old really fast. just over and over, bashing in zombie heads... if you had infinite ammo and stuff didn't break, I'd be cool with it.

I did use the uzi against them when I tried, but I wasn't able to kill them still, it sucked

edit: TLB, screw the broad, save your own ass

  • Dee KaeDee Kae Registered User regular
There's an UzI above the door, you just go right after exiting the storage room, go up the stairs to the foodcourt area with that psycho photographer and before you go all the way up, move the camera to the right and jump from the railing to the signs above the stores. You'll grab on, and have to hop a bit, but there's an Uzi there everytime.

The whole breaking weapons thing is kinda lame though, I'll admit.

I did try another method once, and was semi successful
I rammed them with the car until theirs broke, but I wasn't able to kill them in the car before they just gunned me down

so awhile back, my cousin and I played a game called Earth Defense Force, in which you beat the living shit out of giant bugs using badass super guns

is this the same game? because that game was fun as hell

Yes, yes it is. It gets ridiculous further in. Giant robots, BIGGER bugs, and spiders who everyone hates.

  • scarlet blvd.scarlet blvd. Bebop Cola Goooood!Registered User regular
    ugh, fuck the spiders

Sniping a giant robot to death was awesome though, big dumb suckers

I still have a lotta Inferno level missions to beat, but they're just too hard with one person alone.

    two things though;
-pulse rifle sucks so much ass it's unreal, expect to cycling weapons a lot depending on what ammo you have

The pulse rifle is actually amazing for two reasons:

-Early on it doesn't do much damage but necros can't do anything while you're shooting them with it, so it completely makes lone necros your bitch.
-Later on fully upgraded every shot does as much/more damage (can't remember exactly how much) as the Plasma Cutter does at the start of the game. And it's an automatic weapon.

It is the best weapon to me, just cause ammo in inexpensive, plentiful, and it just takes a few shots to blow a limb off. It's alt fire is great if you ever get surrounded too.

I bought Dead Space last night. Holy shit it is awesome.

I liked the very beginning where you encounter the first monster, and he chases you into the elevator. When I made it to the elevator, I was like "Whew, I'm safe. AHJKHGUUHH!!" Then that silly goose gets cut in half by the door. That was badass.

dead rising was reason i got 360.

haha and i never beat it, i was so anal about saving everyone that i just sorta quit when i realised i messed up and wouldnt be able to.

i really should go back and finish it one of these days, also regarding breaking weapons i think i read if you picked one weapon and then filled the rest of the slots with books, that weapon would last an extremely long time.

wow, I may have to replay it with the pulse rifle now, It always just felt a little redundant to me ,by the time I got it I found it was just easier to spend the upgrade nodes on the plasma/line cutter and with decent use of terrain + stasis I was never left in the situation where I needed something like the pulse rifle 360 degree thing, at least not something that the line gun couldn't handle as well.

I think the only really useless weapon is the Flamethrower, whose only real advantage (killing the swarmers/divider limbs) can be done by the Plasma Rifle, Force gun, or Line Gun altfire, all of which have other purposes.

  • Recommend (cheap games now):

    Gears of War 1 & 2
    Fallout 3
    Oblivion
    Fable 2
    The Orange Box
    Resident Evil 4

  • ascotascot Registered User
The Orange Box should be a definite yes.
And I assume you mean resi 5? That's real cheap now too.
And Mirror's Edge, at least for 1 play through.

  • Oh, yeah, RE5. My bad.

I played about 90% of it, had to reformat my pc and never bothered to reinstall it.

It's very good, if you can get over the weird 3rd-person camera. That almost killed the game for me at first.

I thought the asteroid thing was pretty cool, I guess. I really enjoyed the space walk scene :)

I'm thinking of writing a d20 Modern space horror - but more along the lines of a real space horror game like System Shock 2.

  • KrunkMcGrunkKrunkMcGrunk Registered User regular
I love the way they do space walking in this game. It's plausibly-realistic (dulled sounds) but it isn't burdened by realism.

Also, this asteroid thing fucking suuuuucks. God dammit. This shit is way too hard to aim.

I played through this entire game in German. The ending was very confusing for me, but I think it added tension to the atmosphere. It did take me an hour to figure out how to jump in zero-g.

Speaking of endings, I just finished Borderlands. What a waste of time.

  • QuirkyLittleTyrantQuirkyLittleTyrant Registered User regular
I bought it a couple days after Christmas and played it for around two hours on hard.

I really liked it, but I'm easily scared, so I am too afraid to put the game in and play it because I can only play it at night when it's dark and scary. The necromorphs are terrifying.
