Codecs!!...windows 7 doesn't like them or know what to do with them

ShadeShade Registered User regular
Anyone have a good codec pack for 7? I was using Ace Media on XP but if you put it on 7 it stops itunes and windows media player from opening. So I pulled it out but now I can't play half of my movies.

PS: Already tried CCCP and it can't play all versions of avi and I've got the latest Divx.

Well for starters Win7 comes with basic codecs for mpeg4 already that include H.264. You should have been able to play most files without issue.

From the looks of things Ace Media is so bloated it's causing conflicts with everything.

What video player are you trying to use?

Try running the CCCP Insurgent. http://www.cccp-project.net/

Try the Shark007.net codec pack, I've not had any problems using that pack.
