Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

I know it's not remotely the same avatar, or even the same person, but the black and white of your avatar in my peripheral vision keeps making me think that you are VC risen from the grave.
DA is a boring game with a drab and unoriginal setting and storyline. The VA work is top notch, but everything else about the game is uninspired and sometimes downright awful. The combat couldn't be any slower paced or dull if it tried.
It's like they looked at KOTOR and said "How can we piss on this?" and then started unzipping their flies.
The setting in Dragon Age is cliche fantasy setting, and you know this when you buy the game. Just like when I buy Left 4 Dead I know that the setting is cliche zombie game. I don't see how it's a major issue, as the story is still approached very well. While it's nothing terribly unique, you can tell they still took time to write a convincing setting, it's not like they phoned it in.
The combat is actually much better than Kotor. I don't know if you've played Kotor recently, I have, but it hasn't aged that well. The combat in Kotor is not very good at all.

I hear this at times. Then I sit and wonder if the people who say this played the Baldur's Gate series which has pretty much identical combat. DA:O isn't a sequel to KOTOR, isn't tied to ME or Neverwinter. It is the spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate whose combat could be slow but was always entertaining.
I think this is me just telling kids to get off my gaming lawn though.

My first heavily used screen name was Killingdeath. I made right after watching Hackers for the first time. Eventually it moved to Raptormech and from there to Remmek and now is Mazzyx here since that was the WoW character I played mostly at the time I joined the PA boards.

It's completely phoned in. Elves, Dwarves and Humans? Mages, Rogues and Warriors? Really? It's completely unoriginal and uninspired.
I played through KOTOR a few months ago. It's still a rockin' game, it just looks bad by (then) 2009 standards.
It's almost the same damn combat in DA. Queue up actions and let them execute while you do nothing except pause it if something goes wrong. The only thing missing is lightsabers.
I've used this and another name for well over a decade

Which is where this name came from.
There's no living with a killing. There's no goin' back from one. Right or wrong, it's a brand... a brand sticks. There's no goin' back. Now you run on home to your mother and tell her... tell her everything's alright. And there aren't any more guns in the valley.

The dude is 17, so this seems like an odd but cool thing.

But Will, the Cure is silly! It is silly to like the Cure!
I see your Wrongness and raise you Morrigan, Justin.
THIS IS THE COOLEST FUCKING THING EVER CREATED USING LEGO BRICKS.
OH MY GOD.
Did they use a LEGO Mindstorm kit (or rather, many kits) to make a Rubik's Cube robot?
I honestly think he's trying to be wrong just so he has something to say.
She's been done before.
