Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I named my first snake Richard M Nixon. He escaped when I got drunk and left the top off his cage.
are you sure it wasn't a break-in?
Pretty sure I'm just a functioning alcoholic. Snakegate was very short-lived. Is anyone else annoyed that 30+ years later any controversial thing is still _____gate? It was the name of the fucking hotel. I hate it.
edit sorry I am not trying to hijack this bitch. PA book looks rad as shit and I need to get on ordering it.
Huh. I didn't plan on mail-ordering it because I figured the shipping would make it take a day or two extra, so I placed an in-store preorder a couple weeks ago at Barnes and Noble. Wonder if they'll get any early or break street date if they do.

Hrm, maybe I should buy it when they're here on the book tour.
Though the stop here is in a library, but I would think half the point would still be that they could sell books while there (and presumably get people to pay full retail while they're at it).
I have the 5 Dark Horse books, maybe I could bring those...
Isn't that the 24th then? I was planning on going to that one, but do I have the day wrong? I don't want to show up to a library for no reason. Libraries, who goes to THOSE anymore?

Yeah, it's the 24th, but Amazon says my book is projected to get here the 26th. Hence my fretting. It's just frustrating because the tour is so early - I ordered the darn thing last May and the street date is supposed to be the 23rd.
If there's a site that shipping it now I will go there and order it.

Agreed.
I think I'll try going to a brick and mortar B&N tomorrow and seeing about pre-ordering to pick up the release day or something.

So, I just gave our Barnes and Noble a call, and they said there's no release date restriction on it, so if they get it at the store early I can go in and pick it up. Apparently they have a few copies at their warehouse already.
During a trip downtown to Powell's, I found that they had 1 copy in stock, but it was at the other Powell's 8 miles westward. Half-hour public transit ride over, and after browsing through their entire Graphic Novel wall for about 15 minutes, I turn around and find they stuck it on a shelf opposite the wall the computer said it was on. So it's procured and purchased, but then I notice something curious about this particular copy.
Goddammit I am scouring every bookstore withing 10 minutes of my apartment tomorrow.
Of course, with my luck while I do this my copy from Amazon will ship, but whatever, I need a copy before the 23rd.
Just a heads up:
"Our book tour kicks off tomorrow here in Seattle at the University Book Store. From there we make our way to California. You'll be able to purchase our new Anniversary book at any of our signings (And we hope that you will)or you can just come say hi. This is our first book with our new publisher Random House and they are the ones that set up this book tour. This is also the first time we've done something like this and we really don't want to look like jack asses. So if you could come out to these signings we'd really appreciate it. Here is the complete list again:"

Well, a trip to the local B&N yielded nothing.
Anyone else in the Bay Area had luck finding it early or having it delivered early?
