Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

The Facebook Group Mass-Inviter (virus or password issue)

So I'm fairly sure the cause is a weak password but...

I'm sure some of you familiar with bookface have seen those group invites to "Movies" or "Full Movies"
I apparently was sending out invites (as did some of my friends)

Didn't find much info on the FB help site; the best suggestion seemed to be that I had a weak password. So I changed my password, but I'm still paranoid that it could be something more sinister like a virus/malware/etc.

Anyone have any more details on this?

You could have a keylogger on your machine that might already have the new password, I would do an extensive scan of your machine to be sure

I've already done that. I asked because I was curious as to if anyone else knows what the cause is.
    It isn't a keylogger.

my friend had a similar thing happen a while back; out of the blue someone on his account posted on peoples' walls saying to visit freecashetcetera dot com

assuming you had the same thing going on you're probably safe if you managed to change your password

i mean of course there is a chance that it could be malware

but i guess if "you" have stopped inviting people then you're probably home free

you could always post on your wall saying "if anyone receives an invite to 'movies' please let me know" or something

I was thinking that it was an application that you allowed, but I have no evidence of that .

you didn't just forgot to log out somewhere or logged in on a different (public) PC? A lot of my friends have had the same issue, I dunno what's up with it and FB doesn't seem to be too bothered by it. o_O

Are you sure you didn't just say "Yes" to a "This application can..." dialog?
