Welcome to a phalla! In case you don't know what this is, think of it as our own version of the board game Mafia, with a bit more crazy.
This particular phalla is based on a series of games known as the Touhou Project. While a certain knowledge of the subject can be helpful at times, it is not a requirement, and if you have any questions about the setting, characters or else, just ask me about it.
A few uncommon elements will be present during this phalla, but at heart this remains a traditional game. Every day, you will vote for someone you suspect is a bad guy in !red in order to eliminate them from the game. The game is won when all the bad guys are defeated.
RULES AND THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- All of the usual rules of phalla apply. In short, no anonymous contact, no quoting of PMs or usage of screencaps or whatever to prove stuff, one ghost post allowed before the reaper lady gets you, warn me of any proboards you make.
- GENERAL CREEPINESS WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. This should be a given, but considering the theme and whatever unsavoury people it might attract I'm not taking any chances. Expect me to enforce this rule with fury.
- The only hard rule about activity is to vote once per day. Note that it is a hard rule; if I think your activity during the game is deficient even if you vote every day you will be asked to knock it up a notch or face severe consequences.
- Questions are answered as they are asked. What this means is if for example you PM me a question, I will answer you by PM. Post it in the thread, I will answer in the thread. Ask me by snail mail, you will be answered by snail mail. (Do not ask for clarifications by snail mail as it falls under the "don't be creepy" rule.)
- Order of actions is: the vote ALWAYS goes first. After that it gets a bit complex, but usually it is actions other than kills, then the kills themselves.
- Vote close is at 22:00 EST, with narration and results following at 22:30 EST, and the next day beginning at 23:00, also EST. Those set hours are mostly for neatness' sake. A vote or an order sent at 21:59 will be accepted, while one sent at 22:00 will not be.
- On role PMs: Two different villager role PMs will be distributed randomly among the playerbase. These are solely meant for flavour.

So, if I wanted to start playing Touhout, how should I go about that? Which one should I start at?

I started with Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, the first one released for Windows. I recommend frequenting http://touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhou_Wiki, which has tons of background info and plot stuff that doesn't show up in the games themselves. I typically look up the entry of each character after the first time I encounter them, and read up on the storyline of each game after I've beaten it once.
