On this day in 1770, the Boston Massacre occured infront of the Old State House. The British military had increased their presence in Boston, something citizens were not happy about. A riot broke out and a squad of soldiers discharged their rifles into a crowd. 3 people were killed instantly, 11 were injured and 2 died from their wounds. The most famous depiction of the Boston Massacre is Paul Revere's engraving.
