These last 2 members look interesting enough. I'm actually more excited about the AA book than I am the other ones, at this point. I want to see what the new guys can do, and what the Academy is all about.

I have to imagine they dont have long term prospects for these people because...well theyre putting 0 effort into their names and they seem so random they'd be more at home on the X-Men. And again, almost all these people seem to have been done before and are still currently going. I agree with Cshadow for instance that Finesse looks/sounds from her little soundbyte to be aiming for a reflexive memory thing.

But Taskmaster does that. And he is fucking awesome.
It really makes you wonder who was rejected from the Avengers Academy for gifted youngsters.

So that's how the next Avengers member is going to get killed. And we thought Superman had it bad. But...how will they strap him down an dtear that from him?

I assume you're referring to armoury. What happened to her? I know MVP got the gun and became KIA (and it was fucking awesome) but she just seemed to dissapear. I liked her an her purple hair and her giving shit to the Avengers.

Well without it she has no powers so shes probably just gone back to regular life.

I just thought it was a shame. She seemed fun and interesting and her powers were also cool. Sure Gauntlet could do the same but he was an asshole and rubbish in comparison.

Man, all the guys that ran the initiative were such silly geese. I loved that book, and I loved to hate SkrullPym, War Machine, Gauntlet and Gyrich. Funnily enough I thought the old Nazi dude was kind of funny.

EDIT: This is going in the Avengers thread because Thor is an Avenger...

According to the Mondo Marvel panel at ECCC, the first storyline in the regular Avengers title will have more then just Kang popping up.
    CBR wrote:
To get back on track, Bendis then answered a question about his upcoming “Avengers” series which follows “Siege.” He explained that the first villain they fight is Kang, and it’s “going to be awesome.” The writer then brought up the fact that every story dealing with Kang has characters worrying about the space-time continuum. “Well, Kang breaks it,” Bendis said with a grin. He added that as a result of this break, readers are going to see characters like Maestro, Next Avengers from the “Avengers” cartoon (Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow), Spider-Girl, and folks from the Age of Apocalypse.

I hope most of the continuum-refugees won't be just brief flashes in some temporal window. Be sweet to see Peter meeting Spider-Girl and Logan running into the AoA people (depending on who they are). I think some fans are going to toss a general 'ugh' at those Next Avenger tweens though.

There's a twist to the whole thing – something I really can't discuss but that will be revealed by the end of issue #1. Mike McKone and I – and the entire creative and editorial team – are very excited about how it's shaping up.
I think the twist is that all the kids end up becoming super-villains.

I think the twist is that all the kids end up becoming super-villains.
It would make their bizarrely dark, tragic-looking powers make more sense. But if that's the case, it'd be an even more obvious reveal than Nemesis Kid actually being evil.

Or they could be Norman Osborn's "next generation" of heroes. Those who read the Initiative will remember that Taskmaster once told Norman that you couldn't make an effective army out of super-villains, and that what you had to do instead is take fresh kids and program them from the start. Osborn agreed.

So, maybe that program was actually already underway before Siege, and now that Osborn's gone the Avengers have to deal with Osborn's indoctrinated group of teenage sociopaths.
