Not really. After Giga Impact or Hyper Beam, you're not allowed to switch out. In my experience with Slaking, he usually kills whatever you put him against, at which point they switch to a counter. You have to switch out anyway, so Truant doesn't have the chance to take effect. With Giga Impact you're forced to let them get the revenge kill.

I'd rather stick to no lengendaries to be honest. Even though some are technically OU, they'll still rip half a team apart. Think Azelf with taunt/explode and you get the idea.
Some are UU, though.

Can I expect to play a spruced up version of Gold or Silver, the second gen pokedex relatively intact, up until I beat the Elite Four, at which point the floodgates for a retarded amount of 'mans will be opened?
Mostly I got sick of EV points and all that shit, and while I imagine that's still in, all I want to do is level my mans, give them some sweet movesets, and possibly battle now and then. I figure I'll still get my ass kicked, though, because of my disdain for all that is EV.
Yes. You'll see some fourth gen stuff pre-Elite 4 as well but for the most part it's the game you remember and love.
