Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

So, does mentioning visual kei mean I get to post Mana pics for the rest of the night?

Visual K was explained to me, and is thus seen by me, as thus - It's guys, who are trying to dress like girls who are trying to look like guys.

And what is not to love about that?

The fact that it's the basis for what most guys in Japan try to aim for? And what, apparently, girls seem to go for?

Wait, does that mean Japan is trying to encourage mild lesbianism? Hm...

this girl keeps text/calling me on ambien.

i am not sure what that means.

i wish girls who were not crazy were interested in me. that'd be neat as shit.

then i suppose i'd have to pretend to be not crazy.

    blah.

Yet that is exactly what i see here.

Are they that creepy band that makes itself look like porcelain dolls?

i never got into jane's hardware or anything

i mean i guess i like explosions and stealth and stuff like most young dudes, but i'm just... tanks and subs and missiles and stuff don't really do it for me. i don't have much of a mechanical leaning. my dad wasn't around

with a gun i can take it apart with my hands. i can get up close and personal with it whenever i want, to edify my perception.

i'm not really much interested in most military hardware, i guess, relative to my fascination with small arms

I never considered the 2nd part before. I may have to rethink my stance on Visual Kei.

I am comforted by Richard Dawkins’ theory of memes. Those are mental units: thoughts, ideas, gestures, notions, songs, beliefs, rhymes, ideals, teachings, sayings, phrases, clichés that move from mind to mind as genes move from body to body. After a lifetime of writing, teaching, broadcasting and telling too many jokes, I will leave behind more memes than many. They will all also eventually die, but so it goes. - Roger Ebert, I Do Not Fear Death

Oh, even if it weren't for the Objectivism bullshit Goodkind is just a terrible writer in terms of literary skill, plot, setting, vocabulary or really any other measure you care to apply.

What you think "makes sense" has nothing to do with reality. It just has to do with your life experience. And your life experience may only be a small smidgen of reality. Possibly even a distorted account of reality at that. So what this means is that, beginning in the 20th century as our means of decoding nature became more and more powerful, we started realizing our common sense is no longer a tool to pass judgment on whether or not a scientific theory is correct. - Neil Degrasse Tyson
