Maaaan. I should have known I'd need to pre-order if I wanted to see PAX East . One of my friends just found out he doesn't have to work this weekend, and we were going to go up Saturday but man it is all sold out.
I've got this green tea with rice in it, it's pretty good. Sort of mellows some of the sharp bitterness green tea can sometimes have, and it's got a nice, for lack of a better term, sort of porridge flavor in the background.

Ugh, cheap coffee?? I don't mind spending a bit more to get whole beans in a roast we like. There's a new cafe opening up near us that holds coffee tastings. I'm sure we'll be there to check it out.

I made french toast with challa for breakfast. It was whoa so good.
Fresh-squeezed OJ and whole wheat toast with agave nectar.
Who knew that my juice squeezer had uses outside of booze? This OJ is fucking rocking -- had to go through five medium navel oranges, though.
The house I was living in while in Santa Cruz had a big old navel orange tree in the back yard - along with a bunch of other crazy stuff like persimmons and quinces. I miss fresh OJ. Used to have it almost religiously on the weekends.

No, today is the good stuff. Tomorrow is when cheap begins. Normally we get whole bean of whatever's on sale but some djinn possed Dyr the last time he bought coffee so he went for the bulk Maxwell's instead ("it'll last longer and is cheaper over all", the bastard). It's not as bad as I thought it would be, but it's no 100% Kona either.

I couldn't get down on the persimmons - too weirdly sweet I guess - but we were able to use them to barter with the Korean family next door for various delicious foods.
My food-obsessed housemate made quince paste once. It was really damn good.
