The one thing I loved in the trailer, going back in to the Hawkeye/Black Widow discussion, was there's that one scene where Black Widow says to Hawkeye, "we were not trained for anything like this."

I'm really looking forward to seeing the SHEILD veterans, Hawkeye and Widow, who have been the best they have, almost becoming the WORST overnight as all these superheroes just magically join the team. I love that it will be addressed that suddenly these two feel very overwhelmed.

That's some spoilery link, of course.
    Pasted one picture here:
Boardgame may not be indicative of the movie. Especially since the aliens in the movie don't really look like that. (They're blue and don't have super pointy ears.)

I really don't see the Widow being overwhelmed at all.
In Iron Man 2 she basically kicked all kinds of ass, stuck the director's head in between her legs, and was visibly annoyed at babysitting Stark. She stepped in and saved the day barely breaking a sweat. She thinks Iron Man is an amateur. I'll will love watching Thor going all "ye charming earthly wench" and getting verbally spanked.

Even if Black Widow thought Tony was just average, and she can kick all sorts of ass, its one-on-one ass.

It's not alien army all on her own ass.

I'm just saying I liked the moment when she's with Hawkeye - the only guy she really KNOWS on this last-second save the world team - and is like, holy shit this is way beyond what we're trained for.

I assume we will see him actually obtain it during Avengers.

well, she kept tabs on Stark through all of the movie, him none the wiser until they tell him. And she's the one who busts Whiplash, no?
Figures out his plan AND gets him, if I remember right? Pretty cool imho.
I like a lot what they did with the SHIELD agents in the movies, both her and Coulton.

She doesn't bust Vanko. As I recall, she just gives War Machine control of his armor again.

And her spying isn't all that impressive, especially since it revolves around Stark allowing her to get close because he likes looking at her giant cans. I mean, that's the only reason he lets her get close to him, right?

Potts is much more impressive as a character. She takes charge of the company, keeps her head during the droid attack, and shuts down secondary antagonist Justin Hammer.

I don't think I've seen anyone mention the possibility of it being the Atlanteans. They're blue. Also, the post credits scene could be Fury approaching Namor only to have him go "What? Fuck you. I'm Namor."

Of course, we'd likely know if Namor was in this movie, so that probably won't happen. I can dream, though.

But yeah, I guess I could believe Namor being a concealed carry-on part. He's not huge in the public eye right now. I guess...I dunno. They could get, like, Javier Bardem to play Namor. Might not be too tough to do.

If the idea in the movie is that all the avengers fight eachother then I'm sure it'll be Widow vs Hawkeye with Ironman vs Cap/Thor and Everyone vs Hulk.

Isn't that something Loki did in the first issue of the Avengers anyway? Turned the hulk against them? I would not mind this. In one of the shots in the trailer it looks like the Hulk is chasing Black Widow as well

Then I don't think you have been paying attention.

Several major people in the crew said that it is a specific alien race that already exists in the Marvel Universe and isn't either the Kree or Skrull. If it were the Chitauri why wouldn't he just say?

People are always pushing the idea that "maybe the movie maker is lying" but most often nobody can give a reason. If there is no motive you shouldn't treat it like a credible theory.

Im pretty sure that FOX owns Namor...I remember plans for an actual Namor movie at one point.

Which sucks because I love Namor. The Namor mini series about his son or whatever, after Civil War when he decided to put Nitro in his Atlantean prison, was so great.

Also - as a die hard Captain America fan, I absolutely love his loyalty to Cap. When I heard the Invaders were in Cap, I got excited until I realized it was just Dum Dum and company.

I'd love to see Captain America 2 feature Namor and Human Torch (the android - who has a cameo in Cap 1).
