I'm back, was too tired last night to get anything done. I'll get something worked up soon.

Tri-Optimum reminds you that there are only one-hundred-sixty-three shopping days until Christmas. Just 1 extra work cycle twice a week will give you the spending money you need to make this holiday a very special one.

So, what's the effective range on my micro-bead? Could I contact the ship?

Also, ha ha. Sargent got all offended. :^:

Apparently they're good to about a kilometer although dense terrain, etc, will cause problems.

I think it's almost certain that the middle of a space station counts for dense terrain, and you're probably a little further than a klick away. I don't think you'll be able to use the micro bead to phone home. You'll have to find a proper vox-caster, or just go back and report in person.

Micro-beads are for communications between squad members while out and about together I think. The ship will have a supply of vox-casters, so it might be a good idea to remember to take one next time you go out and about.

Sarge hasn't had a good day, and you lot aren't exactly making it better :)

That's what I thought, just checking. Glad to have everyone back for posting again (I think anyway.)

By the by, started my in house of this today. I think they have my old dice rolls. The player playing the Astropath exploded about where we're at right now. Had to think fast how to adjust the story accordingly. D:

Colt hasn't posted IC for a while, hopefully that isn't a bad sign.

By Exploded, how badly exploded are we talking? And are we talking in the middle of a Precint Complex? That would make things all kinds of awkward.

Well they were in a crowded market place. As to how exploded was he? He had a perils of the warp, rolled 82 and got Cataclysmic Blast, and took a critical energy hit from it killing him instantly.

So yeah, I had to keep the story moving but I couldn't just exactly not have anyone notice.

I didn't post because I don't really know what to do since you were away. :? And I'm not exactly the most confident IC poster. It's a lot of deleting.

Fair enough, my posts certainly involve a lot of deleting :)

As long as everyone is still on board I`m happy. Did you ever figure out what it was you wanted to acquire?

That explosion would be hard to ignore. I guess he was a penal legion troop and someone pushed the kill button early :)

Yeah, There's not a whole lot I'm comfortable doing IC while so many people haven't posted. Hopefully things will pick up again soon, we're almost out of chapter 1.

There aren't going to be any more encounters on the station, so please post about your return to the ship and subsequent departure. Once everyone is ready to transition to the warp I'll have something ready, or if someone wants to interact with another NPC that I should take control of.

That is correct. I was waiting for Mikaela and Vorgan to get in the door and then we blast out of here.

As for Vorgans research. It is purely fluff and will have no current or future mechanical impact on the game, so I hope it’s alright if I just make up results, or you could even make some up for me.

Actually I have something that WOULD have mechanical impact on the game.

In Dark Heresy - Radical's Guide there's a device called an Immaterium Ward. It's a circuity-based armor inscription ward that functions like a heat sink for warp energy created by the empyric engiseers. The empyrics are hereteks; their relationship to the mechanicus is much akin to that of the inquisition and a radical inquisitor operating on special circumstances.

Basically the empyrics got fed up with the warp meddling with the Ommissah's work and decided to invent something that would defend their machines. For which they were marked by the mechanicus because they...

    A. Invented something new.
    B. Studied the warp to do it.
    C. Sell their invention to people who protect them from the mechanicus's wrath for the first two points (namely, the inquisition).

Seems like a good thing for a warp-interested techie to get all heretical over reconstructing. A possible ultra-long term storyline goal for your character.

GothicLargo: First off I love your idea, I'm going to have to look into it. Also don't worry I won't wreck your ship. As for the mail thing, honestly that was more of me the PC assuming the message wasn't private.

Hermenegilde: Maybe Vorgan just doesn't want to properly affix the suspensors for you. :P

Woo! Time to shop for PC improvements!

I'd like to spend 100 on boosting my willpower by 5 up to 51 and use the other 100 on Literacy. Learning is fundamental.

Also, I've got really nothing to say for awhile. So don't tarry on my account. :P

Sorry everyone, I've been distracted recently. But I'm not dead and neither is this game. I'll have an IC post after work. I'll update the 1st IC post with character upgrades at the same time.

Lodwilk: Feel free to come up with results you like, as long as they seem like they fit in universe.

Say, I am void born and am therefore immune to space travel sickness. Do you still want me to roll willpower?

  • ChrysisChrysis Registered User regular
    edited May 2010
Good point. You probably are immune on those grounds. Channelling that stuff through yourself on a daily basis probably doesn't hurt either.

lodwilk: Looks good. Each attempt will take about a day, so you'll be able to have a go at properly fixing it again soon when the ship next jumps at this point. For now though, while the suspensors are attached, they are non-functional. The Bolter works fine though.

Who's piloting ? Or are we simple maneuvering it ? Anyone wants to pull a focused augury ?

  • GothicLargoGothicLargo Registered User
    edited May 2010
At the moment I'm simple maneuvering/ordering a minion to do it. I may dramatically take the helm at some point in the story.

I was tired last night we had a long op going on in EVE.

I've pretty much run out of any motivation to keep this going. While I don't like to kill it, it's only going to limp along sadly if I don't. Sorry to let everyone down.

Speaking of games, the one tonight went well. It took me a bit to find my footing, and I relied heavily on our gracious GM's help, but I managed to claim some genestealer skulls and avoided death on a few occasions by the skin of my teeth. Playing a Trader is interesting. Playing one that's batshit insane is even more so. I'll have to work on a better light source for my webcam, but other than that, I've got things well worked out. I stood toe-to-toe with some of the most dangerous creatures in the universe and managed to survive.

But those critical failures are coming. I can taste it on the dark wind.
