Quoting for the new page. I just watched it. I had no idea a one hour powerpoint presentation could be so damn entertaining. Now I see why so many guys have Avellone man-crushes.
The reactivity flowcharts were impressive. It will be interesting to see choices have effects throughout the game, not just in the current level and epilogue like in Dragon Age. The Witcher is the only game I can think of that had recurring consequences like that, but not to the extent Obsidian is describing.
Mike Thorton: He's just trying to keep the body count low.
I'm bummed my PC won't be powerful enough to run this. I'm perfectly happy to play it on the 360, and it'd be my first choice anyway, but I'm just sad that I won't be able to play the inevitable mod that adds a fridge full of yogurt to your safehouses.
Are you sure? It uses the Unreal Engine, and the Steam page lists low reqs.

Okay, just thought of a very important question: will Alpha Protocol have an awesome song by a semi-famous artist playing over the credits, like the James Bond movies?
And more importantly, will Chris Cornell do it? He did a fantastic job with Casino Royale, he has the same first name as Chris Avellone, and I think they might be the same person:
Note how he cunningly changes his hairstyle and facial hair to avoid detection. I guess that explains why you can customize your hair so much in Alpha Protocol.
Okay maybe not all the way, I could skip the ball-torture. But so long as I can wear a tux and beat people to death with my bare hands, we're good here.
I love when you hear about an awesome game for the first time, and it turns out to be only a few months away. Hopefully.
I love when you hear about an awesome game for the first time, and it and Red Dead Redemption, basically the two most awesome games you've ever heard of, and both games you've thought "Why haven't they made a really good ______ game yet?", and then end up waiting over a year for the game to actually come out due to delays.
At least we'll get to see what Obsidian can do with a huge time budget.
Aw come on just try to admit that this isn't at least a little awesome:

This is way offtopic but having just rewatched that intro, I actually think that song fits this sequence way better:
*snip link*
But yeah, that's actually the only Chris Cornell song I can stand. I've no clue what the hell cooljammer posted but it should be burnt at a stake.
Anyway, now that this game is finally going to be released, I'm re-re-excited for it. It's nice to have an actual OP for the game too.
That was from Chris Cornell's solo album, where he collaborated with Timbaland. It might be the same album which spawned this loltastic tweet from Trent Reznor

I think that's Michael Westen. Michael Weston is this guy:

I was hoping someone would post that.
Edit: Also, I want to watch that episode again. Damn you USA and your shitty streaming policies...

i liked the episode he turned up in as well.
That... was [strike]one of[/strike] the best espisode that season, I only hope we can do shit like that in AP.
Thanks for that.
Gameplay on the shitbox looks hella wonky, but seems right up the alley for my PC. Par for the course. I am pleased.

Something like this...
YES!
I love that show, and I find myself humming that theme when I'm at work. It's too bad it's facing tough odds for renewal.
Deeply troubled.
All right, people. It is not a gerbil. It is not a hamster. It is not a guinea pig. It is a death rabbit. Death. Rabbit. Say it with me, now.
Hmm...I've seen the show, and while I think it's shit, I'm shocked it isn't doing better. That's the kind of stuff people eat up.

And then I wouldn't get to play that awesome Alpha Protocol game that is likely to be totally awesome.

And that the aussies get it first.. w00t
Try second. :P
