Also, this campaign is both awesome and infuriating. My patented "let the enemy make the first move" never works. Damn AI staying where it is safe.

Just got this game and am having a lot of fun with it.
I just got 1 problem the deliberating shapeforms suck up soooo much time.
During the third mission, the escort mission I think, it takes the comp so long to just move the yellow peeps toward the exit (all hostile where dead, even the reinforcements).
Anyone else have this problem? Or a solution?

Heads up to everyone still playing, or otherwise interested in this game: The devs are working on some new DLC.

Details are sparse at the moment, but we do know it's going to contain:

- New music
- Mutators
- Possibly new units (although how that's going to work I couldn't say
- And a new game mode

It's that last one I'm bringing to attention. The devs say they're interested in doing either 2v2 or 2vAI, but they likely won't have the resources to do both.

Personally I'm hoping for 2v2, but whatever you're after, they asked people to give their preferences. At the moment 2vAI is looking more likely.

We’ll be starting a beta DLC server and handing out a DLC beta to a very few people next week. The features that are currently in beta/alpha are:



- New unit

- New game mode

- Mutators

- Existing campaign playable in co-op

- Hotseat (this will be available to all, not just the DLC, but it’s being tested in the DLC beta atm)

- Timed turns. Might not be in this week, maybe next



The discussion of 2v2 and 2vAI was very even – almost exactly 50% either way. So we’re going to do both. But we can only do one for this DLC, and I’ve gone with 2vAI. I’m sorry for those who will be dissapointed, but we have made the *entire* existing campaign co-op, along with adding a load of new missions too. We’ve been testing co-op in house and it’s really great.

I just started playing this again yesterday, and I wondered why the tutorial video showing the new riot shield unit was in the menu. Guess it's because of this! I'd forgotten just how elegant and awesome this game is. I played a few campaign missions then jumped online and played three matches with a new guy. I didn't perform all that well in my online matches but I had a helluva good time. I really should play this thing more. And I think I will.

Also; That new DLC? Oh my goodness. I'm gonna have to risk the wrath of She Who Must Be Obeyed and grab that this week.

Well I went to buy the DLC and I only have $4.11 in the bank, whoops! That's cool though, I get paid Thursday so it can wait for now.

I remember why I stopped playing. I had a list of stalled out/abandoned games a mile long. Too many players were more than happy to just drop a match where they perceived a disadvantage or had put themselves into a losing situation. Seems like I remember hearing the devs did something to address that though.

Too much other stuff to play is the usual simple reason.

I was wondering whether I'd pick this up myself. But who am I kidding, I'd probably pick it up just for the soundtrack. And the riot shield actually looks more interesting than it first sounded.


EDIT: With regards to dropped games, IIRC they get cancelled if there's no response in two weeks.

Not ogin to lie, though, was really hoping for some 1v1v1 or 2v2 etc.

Nope, the developers are too awesome for that. If one person has the expansion then they can play with anyone else even if that second person hasn't bought it.

Psh you people playing coop. Play against other people, like a real gamer! "I don't do too many 1v1 yet because I still suck ass" is a bad excuse! You'll never get better if you don't challenge yourself. It's not like the game uninstalls itself if you lose 10 matches. You can lose as many as you want! Nothing will happen. People won't come to your house and yell at you. It's just a videogame. Join me in the competitive gaming land where every choice matters and the challenge is real!
