    I can do it consistently from the right but not from the left

    it's because of the ps3 controller and hurgh I should really find some place to try out pads/sticks sometime. I reeeally don't want to buy before I know I like it

    Hm. If you mean it's hard to do at all then maybe you're holding on to the stick thing after the first quarter circle foward? If so, try raising your thumb slightly so that instead of leading the stick back with your thumb, you let it snap back into neutral (and then you do another quarter circle forward)

    I feel like that's how I do it, at least

    Yeah, holding on too long seems to be the problem.

    EDIT: Alas, a stick is not in the cards for me, since I am told the SE breaks too much, and I refuse to pay 100+ for a controller.

    They've made 360 moves a lot more sensitive/easy to do. Seems like you only need to do a half circle now. I was trying to do hadoken motions and getting SPDs with Zangief, same with Hakan.
