Most of the 'one chance only' things aren't really. Up to the very end of the game and one rather crucial point, I think most of them only dock around 50%. Of course, that doesn't help when you're nearly dead as it is.

    (But that means...save!)

It makes sense to me, having different moments of the trial have different amounts of health at stake. There are times when being able to go "whoops, let me try that one again" just wouldn't fit.

So I just completed JFA, and I have to say: I never thought that Capcom would have been able to create a character that could out-dick Manfred von Karma or Gant, for that matter. Glad to say that the fourth case's bad guy was both a complete surprise (again) and the biggest stone cold asshole yet. You have to give it to the writers - they always seem to find new ways to make you hate the jerks they put you up against in this series.

It makes sense, I was frustrated.

One of the only thing that really frustrates me sometimes is when I have the right idea, but present the wrong piece of evidence even though it is incredibly similar. Such as in Case 3 when I [spoiler:a7a214cc02]presented the peppered scarf as the cause of Bat's death rather than the pepper shaker.[/spoiler:a7a214cc02]

And we all know that that certainly made games like Beyond Good and Evil and Okami into best-sellers!
The first game sold well enough over here for them to localize a second one, and I don't think anyone really expected it to (I certainly didn't). I'd be surprised if the eagerly awaited sequel didn't do well... I know numerous people imported it, but I think importers are a small enough niche that it didn't hurt its sales over here too badly.

Not only did PW1 sell well enough to merit a second localization, it did so while being largely unavailable for purchase for what? A year?
    I called Capcom and asked.

There's no official word on sales, but the unofficial word I got is that "As a series, Ace Attorney is selling better than, say, Viewtiful Joe ever did."

    And VJ sold pretty well.

Do you mean GS 3 or 4? I'm thinking: like JFA and like PW1's Case 5, respectively.

I've never played the first Phoenix Wright. I just finished the second game yesterday. Awesome ending. I thought the game did a great job of providing enough backstory information for everything to make sense; not once did I feel like I was really missing out by not playing the first game first. I mean, the first case in Phoenix Wright 2 starts you out with amnesia for goodness sake!

So yeah, you don't need to play Phoenix Wright 1 to enjoy Phoenix Wright 2.

Ah, I wouldn't worry too much. She's 25 now in the Ace Attorney universe.

But I'd still worry a little bit. ;)

In any case, I've had a bit more frustrating time with PW2 than the first game... I didn't have to look at any FAQs for the first game, and yet I've had to check a couple times for the second case so far in Justice For All. I've just finished investigations after the first day of trial, so hopefully I can make it through the second day without resorting to outside help.

One thing I sort of regret is I consulted GameFAQs on the final piece of evidence from Case 4 (Not counting the required "feel good" evidence), and I later thought about it and realized that if I'd taken the time to work it out logically it wouldn't have been all that hard at all.

This was such a good game though half the time it made me mad that I knew what was going on and screwing presenting the clues. Was anybody else more intrested in finding out more about Mia and Maya's mom dissapearence. I mean they were both kind of minor details in PW1 and PW2 that it got me intrested in knowing what happened to her.
