avatar doesn't seem to be updating in sidebar

in Tube's Circus Of Bug Reports and User Issues
It's updating for my main image in my profile view, but not for the sidebar on posts or in the mini-view: I assume it's some caching issue? If so, no worries, I am a patient man. I will check back in a few hours and post here that it is solved. However, if it's some horrible underlying fault in the system, I hope that my post has averted some unmentionable crisis.

    OK, so I thought it might be some weird cache thing: nope.

    I've tried:
    deleting my current avatar
    uploading the new avatar
    deleting the new avatar
    posting a link to the new avatar
    uploading the new avatar
    again, deleting the new avatar

    Did you update what was at this link (Edit Profile Picture) or this one (Edit Avatar)? I think you did the former, but you should do the latter.
