Cats are terrible. Whenever I'd start messing around with my last girlfriend, our cat would hop up and want attention. When we tried locking him out of the room, he'd spend the whole time scratching at the door.

Personally I would argue with the dude on the grounds that
(a) rights don't exist except in law
(b) privacy is not an inherent good, and actually I think the more we move away from it the better
(c) morality hinges upon self-awareness
Every argument is worth having, even those against people who are really far out there, because at the bare minimum you are honing your own beliefs and critical thinking ability

OMG HOW DRACONIAN. One more piece of ID I need to carry or at least keep locked up at home, just like a drivers license, a social security card,a passport, a birth certificate, etc.

It's about holding the upper-hand over folks, about helping to ensure your dominance. But when we all do it, it sort of just cancels out and adds psychological burden and enables us to do shitty things to other people
privacy is something we want, but not something that makes us happy. It's always important to remember that what we desire is very often not what will actually make our lives better. It might help the genes that promote that desire to reproduce, but that's very different from individual well-being

Yeah, you're right. Privacy is such a silly notion. Someone shouldn't be able to keep the fact that they're HIV positive private if they want to, or that they're homosexual.
