Ugh, never again. I like seafood but oysters and clams are a no-go for me.

Back in highschool, my defacto girlfriend and I went on a double date with her sister and her boyfriend. We ate at a Chinese restaurant (an actual restaurant, like nice authentic food) (and this is funny considering the three of them are Chinese), and that was where I first tried oysters and clams. The texture is just so fucking wrong and it ruined my appetite for the evening.

I watched this show a couple weeks ago about different kinds of swarms

in some african village they take a pot, make it a little wet, and swing it into swarms of tiny tiny flies. then they mush em' all together and make bug burgers

so instead of being like FUCK I HATE THESE FLIES they are like, FUUUCKCKKKK YESSS BURGERS!

This was 8 years ago, I don't remember. I'll give the benefit of the doubt about it, but honestly I'm just not interested in trying.

Their mother was awesome. She was born and raised in the motherland and brought that cooking with her.

I used to be a baby about just about everything until I was 18 or so, seeing as how I grew up pseudo-poor. Not destitute...but lets just say there was a lot of tuna with mac and cheese and hamburger helper. Anymore, there really isn't anything I won't try and enjoy. You just have to have the mentality that this shit like oysters and other more exotic foods are damn popular for a reason. Usually when I try a food for the first time, I try and consume it as if it were one of my favorite delicacies, knowing full well that it is indeed a favorite delicacy for many people out there. It helps getting over that initial 'weirdness'

Food is honestly my favorite thing about traveling. Any time I go to a nice new restaurant, I'm always keeping an eye out for the most exotic dishes on the menu.
