With the release of super Mario Galaxy 2, I wanna dust off my Wii and play some console. Only problem is I don't own a TV anymore, so im looking for a monitor that accepts component/ composite cables, for around 150/200. Any help would be great, thanks.
Do you already own a monitor?
If so does it have 2 vga inputs on it?
Because just getting a wii vga cable would be a lot cheaper, and if the monitor only has the 1 input a cheap video switch to go with it, shouldn't be more than like $50 in total.
If you go into the power search and select everything with component input ("S-Video, Component", "Composite, Component", etc.) you get more results. Both are way out of the price range, but more is better, right?

It would probably be better to get a dedicated component to VGA or HDMI adapter. More expensive but more versatile and probably better picture quality.
I do like the idea of not spending much money. If I go the vga adapter route, how would I handle audio?
I have two computers and two consoles hooked up to my monitor so I have had a similar challenge and found what I think is a good solution. From the start I had a normal 2+1 PC speaker which comes with a build in amp and I went out and bought a passive 4-way audio selector which now sits on my desk. Whenever I change input on the monitor all that is needed is to do the same change on the audio selector.
Audio selectors comes with two or more inputs and I recommend rather getting more inputs than you think is needed. Right now I find my self considering getting a Wii which will then mean I need to get a 5-way selector which I never considered I could ever need :P
Oh one thing to look out for when buying a monitor to handle more than just a PC. Make sure to get one that will scale input while maintaining aspect ratio! Some monitors will scale anything to full screen which is not good and others will not scale at all. For example if you want to display a 16:9 image on a 16:10 screen and the monitor does not maintain the aspect ratio you'll end up with a somewhat distorted image.

VGA does not handle audio. But theres probably audio ports on your TV associated with the VGA in.
