Meanwhile, my suspicions about Kime proved founded. Thinks would have been easier without him, for sure.

This isn't a victory- it's a lesson on paying attention and putting primary goals above secondary ones. It was the village's game to win or lose.
You forgot the worst part: The last day's voting wasn't about who was going to die to the vote. It was a choice for INNS to make, win or lose? And INNS chose to lose.
