So guys I've got an idea for an SCP I wanted to run past you.

Ok so it's a mask (or maybe welding goggles??). And when you fall asleep in the same room as the mask, it levitates a couple of inches over your face, and as soon as you open your eyes after waking up it latches onto your face and does unspeakable things

I'm guessing it can only move by itself when not being directly observed, or only when detecting alpha or delta brainwaves. It hovers right over your face for as long as it likes, then as soon as you open your eyes to see it, BAM.

And it needs open eyes to send its feelers in through your pupils to feed on the juicy brain meats or whatever.

It's playing on that old "There's something here, I can feel it, and it'll get me as soon as I open my eyes" thing.

There was something I saw in a video that did this to slugs.

it somehow took control of the slug, and made it crawl out into the open.

At the same time it also made it's color change so that it would look very tasty to birds, so that it'd get ingested.

Nature can be fucking terrifying.

I had an idea... anyone can feel free to use/embellish it for yourself if you like it or ignore it if it sucks.

An object, something everyday like a pen, that is completely normal in every measurable way. It operates normally, is most definitely not indestructible whatsoever, and in any and all tests it gives back a result of "normal."

Except it's been used in test after test after test because for some reason it is entirely impossible to convince anyone that it is only an (object).

It sounds a little cliched to me, but I can't get it out of my head so I figured I'll exorcise it here.

I'd say the picture is an extremely decomposed cow or horse or something like that. Don't know how you see a tree stump.
