Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Hello! You may remember me from a recent thread in which my baby sister was going to New York for modeling reasons.
This has developed into an opportunity in Toronto, where she'll be moving next week. She's got a decent room rented, but will need to supply her own furnishings.
So - where in the greater toronto area are some good places for her to snag some decent and cheap used furniture at? (Bed, chair, desk, dresser type things).
She'll have her vehicle there, and though her room will be nearish downtown toronto, she's fine with a bit of driving to get what she needs.
Hmm... good question! Unfortunately, I think you've missed the end-of-semester university furniture dump. Some of our Goodwills have furniture; I'd call before making a trip to see if they have it. http://www.goodwill.on.ca/2006_shop.html
Also, we have a number of IKEAs in town. Not used, but cheap.
Other than that, I honestly can't think of a lot of places with used furniture. I just asked my husband (who has lived here all his life) and he snorted, then gave the same advice I just did. You might want to drive around the Annex (neighbourhood just north of downtown) on a weekend and check out the garage sales, or troll around on Craigslist.

Craigslist works in a pinch. I'd second IKEA, it's pretty dirt cheap and they do have a 'used' section, although it's entirely random as to what's available.
