    Playable Ann, or no sale.

Go look at the screenshots again. :)

Oh, hey, look at that. Anne.

Some of this was probably already answered, but I'll cover what might be useful.
@slash000 , if the information is public I am curious what frameworks are you guys are using for your future projects. EG: are you still using XNA for PC development? Unmanaged directx / direct2d? OpenGL?

And were the steam versions of BODVII and CSTW in XNA built for windows or did they get ported?

I have been a professional dev in my day job for quite a while now and I am just curious what a studio of your size is using these days.

Steam CSTW/BODVII were XNA all the way. The iOS/Android/etc versions are ports via Unity.

    GnomeTank wrote: »
Any news on the iOS versions of CSTW and BoD7?

The versions are coming along extremely well. There are still some little things here and there that need cleaning up before they're finished though, but the progress has been great and it's in a state that's getting pretty close to the final product.

PC & XBLIG versions are XNA. Other versions are being handled by Tinkerhouse Games and last I heard, they were using Unity.

And no, there aren't going to be any demakes of the first two games.

Interesting. Is there anything you are allowed to say publicially on what it was like to integrate a .NET / XNA game (.NET 4.0 I assume?) into the Steam platform?

edit: for example was it a bunch of pInvokes or do they provide a managed library?

This is all under NDA :P

oh btw, I have BoDVII and Cthulu on XBLA and they are good times and money well spent.

If you ever release android versions I'll be just as pleased to buy em again.

Android version's in the works, as well as iOS and Mac, tablet and mobile.

Is there a release date for ep. 3 yet? I'm still working on a Cthulu's Angels playthrough of CSTW and have yet to beat BODVII, but I'm plugging away at them.

So, I got all jacked up on Zeboyd yesterday after seeing the PA screens and decided to download CSTW. I was nervous because I didn't really dig BOD(I'm starting to think I didn't give it a fair shake) but ohhhh man! CSTW is so good! From the moment I got home from work, minus the 40 mins it took to eat dinner and watch Doctor Who, all I did was play the game. Its such a charming game, and I love the humor. I look forward to running into new enemies so I can read their descriptions. I laughed out loud at quite a few of them, the dolphin being my favorite.

    Awesome game fellas!

I'm looking forward to the soundtrack actually. I loved the ones for BOD and CSTW. I've got the battle theme from Cthulhu's Angels stuck in my head today, been listening to it at work and its really just great all the way through.

I for one actually hope not. One of the things which turned me off about the previous PA games when I first tried the demo was that I wanted to play with the characters I know and love, or at least versions of them, but was immediately asked to create some sort of superfluous personal avatar whose primary distinguishing feature was that he was inexplicably holding a rake.

Was sold on this when I saw the iOS tag. Boggles my mind that the iPad has become my gaming platform of choice, let alone so quickly. Totally forgot about the Android/iOS ports of BoD7 and CSTW. Can't wait to get those too.

Love the art going on in the screenshots; they've got me pumped to check this thing out. Got no worries you folks will knock this one out too.

You could also make a decent looking Kiko with that character creater. I discovered this by trying to craft a Khoo, which didn't work so well :(

Also, the rake weilding wasn't inexplicable! You were tending to your yard when a giant fruit fucker stomps your house.

@slash000 and @RainbowDespair Will this game have letterboxed fullscreen support for 4:3 monitors? The video options in BoD and CTSTW (small window, giant window that extended past the edges of my screen, and horizontally smashed fullscreen) kind of killed my enjoyment of them.

I kind of have outside reasons for loving it. In short, having very well planned out ideas for my own rpg series I will never make involving a combat engine inspired by a unique aspect of ff4, and grandias engine being the absolute closest to mine I ever saw.
To see an indie game with it makes me giddy.

I wouldn't exactly call the player character superfluous. Who else was going to eat hobomeat or get injected with urine for stat boosts?

So Gametrailers go ahold of us at PAX and did a brief walkthrough:

X-Play's Morgan Webb also did a quick preview of Rainslick3:

Well, we have a release date!

    http://zeboyd.com/2012/06/01/penny-arcades-on-the-rain-slick-precipice-of-darkness-3-coming-out-on-july-10th/

Penny Arcade’s On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 will come out for PC (Steam) and the Xbox 360 (Xbox Live Indie Games) on July 10th, 2012.

    Some other details:

The price will be $5 for the PC version and 400 MS points for the XBLIG version.
Steamplay will get you both the PC & Mac versions (Mac version to come at a later date).
Mobile versions are still under way. Details on those will be announced later.

We’re very excited about this game – We think it is a huge improvement over Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII and can’t wait for more people to have a chance to play it.

In the meantime, here are a couple new screenshots to whet your appetites. Screenshot 1 and Screenshot 2.

Phew.. feels good to have a release date. We're in the polishing and bug testing phase right now. :)

I'm thinking there's a high likelihood of CSTW coming to iOS/Android sometime this month.
