poor Koreans, but Argentina is just the better team. Otoh Korea just has to win their next game and they're through, right? Or what decides when two teams have the same number of points?

Number of goals scored. I'm not sure korea is safe yet on that front
It really depends on what happens in the Nigeria vs Greece game comign up next.

Oh, I looked it up, it's goal difference first, then number of goals, then direct competition. But as Greece won't win against Argentina, at least Korea can advance on their own (by beating Nigeria).
Best-case scenario for Korea would be a tie in that game, so the standings would be 6-3-1-1 instead of 6-3-3-0. Then they'd advance with a win over Nigeria or a tie and have Greece not beat Argentina.
If Nigeria beats Greece, then a tie against South Korea gets them through on goal difference.

as a mad german im gonna be the wet blanket that so many were for our performance against australia
- first goal was a pathetic own goal
- second goal was shit goaltending
- third goal higuain was clearly offsides
see how do you like it argentines
but really though its sad the two most impressive teams in this tournament are going to meet in the quarterfinals. england's quarter of the bracket is going to be such a joke if they win their group.

I know, but that's why giving up that last goal was so huge. A 3-1 loss and they still have a slight edge in tiebreakers unless Nigeria blows out Greece.
Now even a 1-0 win for Nigeria gives them the edge.
Clearly the Germans should play for 2nd place in Group D.
Although I still think the U.S. has an ok chance to win Group C.

here's the thing tho
ruud gullit said it best: soccer is a game about mistakes. the good teams put good players in the best position to capitalize on those mistakes. if neither team makes a mistake, there won't be any goals.
argentina deserved their goals based on the run of play and chapeau to them for capitalizing on the mistakes so lethally
