Oh, and this game is awesome. I'm enjoying that a lot of the levels are pretty varied and have some distinct themes to them. Makes everything really fresh. And they keep finding new ways to do interesting stuff with the thread/sewing angle which is amazing.

Also, Carrie can go to hell. I freaking hate "carry shit to the exit" missions... *sigh* Thank god this game isn't that hard or these would be annoying the hell out of me way more than they already are (the only "friend" missions I've actually lost due to running out of time...). But god dammit, I must have all the fabric everywhere!

It's also a shame that Kirby walks on top of stuff in the foreground in your apartment. He should really walk behind it :(

So this game is a lot of fun so far. Reviews were right that it's pretty easy, but it's fun enough that that's ok.

I'm not sure what to think about the story. The presentation is almost insultingly juvenile. I suppose maybe that's what they were going for. Not that the story in a Kirby game has ever mattered, but it feels weird when I suddenly feel like I'm playing "Little Bear: the Game" or something during these story bits :P

I think Stephen Fry should've been the narrator. You can almost hear it.
This is the only correct answer.

Cannot wait to pick this up tonight. My only concern is that because I'm such a huge fan of co-op and because the co-op in this game has been talked about so much, I feel like I'll be doing myself a disservice if I play it alone. We'll see if someone can come over tonight - otherwise, I don't think I'll be able to wait.

I just want to say I love the fact that so many titles of the recent 2d platformer revival can be played co-operatively in their entirety.

No wife/girlfriend? With the whole "no deaths" thing this seems like the perfect stress-free game for those who aren't terribly game-oriented.

Getting hit at the last second of a boss fight or right before the end of a level and losing your Platinum/Gold Medel is very stressful.

Co-op is great and I recommend that people try it if they can but it makes the game more difficult because you're always getting in each other's way.

I thought about playing it with the gf - maybe I will do that. Only problem is that means I have to wait until I see her next weekend! Gah! Maybe I'll try to beat Other M in the meantime.

My fiance just discovered that too and we spent probably 20 minutes just taking pictures of them napping together.

Any tips on how to get the patch from Fangora's (the first boss) stage? Even if I don't get hit, I still only get a silver medal. There must be something I can do to get more beads...

So this game is still awesome, I just haven't had much time to play it unfortunately. It's amazing though, I am at like, World 5 I think? It's still finding ways to surprise me with cool shit. That's awesome.

BTW, at one point one of the little friend guys popped up and said they were checking out my apartment, but I wanted to finish the level I was on (missed one of the pickups) first. When I went there she was gone :( Anyone know what happens when they visit your apartment? Do you get patterns for it?

Side note - there was a level with orange slices in it and now I am obsessed with the idea of a pattern with orange slices on it. That better damn be in there!

  • GMaster7GMaster7 Registered User regular
You guys weren't effing around - this game is great. My gf asked early on if it's "for babies," because of the storybook intro, but once we started playing, she was into it. When they mentioned the need to decorate the apartment, she gasped with excitement.

And the music! I need to spend less time giving verbal directions and more time listening to the music. The instrumentation is just... so simple and superb!

Gift Card? I thought it was a $20 coupon and then $20 off NSMBW, M:OM, or S&P if you buy 'em on the same ticket.

I beat the game, got a gold medal on every level, collected all the treasures, purchased every item, and completed the challenges from Zeke, Carrie, and Beadrix. Total playtime is about 17 hours and I have 99% completion. I still need to beat the rest of Mara's and Buster's challenges.

The Buster challenge I'm stuck on is Cloud Palace. You have to beat 70 enemies in 1:10. I can get around 65 or so before I run out of time, and I eventually figured out that you lose time if you get hit. I'm up to 31 or 32 of Mara's challenges. I'm not stuck or anything but I was getting bored of them. Why does Mara have so many challenges!?

My favourite level in the game is still Melody Town but the final world is probably the best overall world.

I just got this over the weekend and I really enjoy it. The art direction is the sort of thing I was hoping for when Nintendo announced that they'd be backing off on the high-end graphics arms race. Right now I'm working on 100%ing everything.

I kind of hate the narrator though, and I'm disappointed that (spoilers I guess?)...

My goal over the Christmas break was to make a sizeable dent in my backlog. I succeeded in completing one game. Being a dolphin was probably my favourite transformation. But, I think the favourite part of this game for me was when you unlocked new stages. Chucking that badge and letting the world unravel and uncover the new stage was always awesome.
